    Back in the day GM came out with interlocking motor mounts. Also GM had a cable setup to prevent motor from lifting with a broken mount.

    What have you done to your square lately??

    Changed all four headlight adjustment screws and plastic nuts. Broke one tab off the headlight mount bracket. Took one from parts truck. Water temperature ran up to 240F. Changed thermostat. Was a 180, replaced with a 180. Housing gasket now leaks. Get to do it all over again.

    How much weight will a 1/2 ton really handle?

    3500# of railroad ties in my 3/4. Five ties across five high. E rated 80 # tires. Drove like a dream. Wife wants me to keep them in the bed all the time because the truck drove so smooth.

    Also I believe the 73 had small wheels on the mechanism to match the window mount at the bottom of the window. This changed to larger wheels and corresponding window mount in 1974-up.

    My 73 3/4 ton was available with different load capacities. So I'm guessing that the springs were different. POINT: Saying "3/4 ton springs" is not specific enough.

    Electrical Connections

    If I am not mistaken, that two terminal thing at the top of the picture might be wired wrong. The left side is the power side and the right side is for the accessories. The two terminals are then connected with a fusible link.

    Tried to adjust headlights. Adjustment screws do nothing. Brand new headlight has burned out low beam. Now my brake warning light is on, even with ignition off. :crazy:

    Sorry for confusion. It IS a stock radio. Shaft distances are correct because it is a stock radio. It is a stock radio from an 80's truck. BUT, I can't feed it up to it's proper location.

    When you get to work, run the motor until the oil heats up completely. Short, short trips are murder on motors. Anyone want some sludge??
