best way to service power steering pump?

There are a ton of options. Im assuming no one answered yet because its such a trivial task. Here is a few options Use a turkey baster to suck it out use a mighty vac use some paper towels or shop rags use a long funnel to displace the old fluid with new by placing snout of funnel at lowest...

Turns out putting the temp sensor in the intake really is no good

Yeah if its always pegged its grounded out for sure. pretty much any "sender" will have Infinite resistance when grounded. Mine seemed to go half way up then gradually rise to pegged. the odd thing is the two gauges rise together in unison until the factory gauge just keeps on going . I know its...

Turns out putting the temp sensor in the intake really is no good

:argue:Ok you two,LOL Also not to be a know it all but there is actually a lot of science backing his theory. Resistance is actually a product of temperature in a wire. Thats actually how the sender works. As temp increases so does resistance; so a wire getting too hot will increase...

Turns out putting the temp sensor in the intake really is no good

Going in the head between 1-3 is out of the question due to the headers. I had to clearance my brand new stainless headers just to get #3 plug in and it touches the boot pretty solid still. Im using sleeves to protect them but it pushing on it pretty hard. I broke the first #3 plug if that tells...

Turns out putting the temp sensor in the intake really is no good

It could be as simple as my wire not being rated exactly what the OE wire is and that causing a resistance change. Makes perfect sense in theory.

Turns out putting the temp sensor in the intake really is no good

That is exactly how mine was of course from the factory. It was my bad decision putting the temp wire with the rest. It was suspect from the get go and I knew that but did it anyway because I wanted the green wire to disappear . I know better now and actually think there is something to the...

Turns out putting the temp sensor in the intake really is no good

SO proximity to ignition you say...well It is ran along with the main harness(alternator, starter, ignition, etc) and branches out to go to the sender. I used cloth tape for making harnesses and ran it all together to clean up the engine bay. I may very well have some "noise" there interfering with...

Turns out putting the temp sensor in the intake really is no good

It was the intake unit that was reading high in my case. The unit in the head reads perfect. So in my case the intake is giving the higher reading. My brother had the same issue with his and used the same intake. Mybe the eddy air gap has a problem witht hat....whoknows I thought about that as...

Turns out putting the temp sensor in the intake really is no good

Had the brand new sender in the intake and was overheating so it said. Tried a different thermo and same problem. Ran without and it was all good but only got to 110deg so couldnt tune or drive for that matter. Decided to try a manual bosch gauge and sensor in the head and it matched the dash...

WTF two new seperate thermostats not working+ more input needed

Ok thats ok for now then. Ill run a lead to the choke or bridge the connection later. Im just trying to break everything in for the time being. I didnt think it did much considering the engine fired without it.

WTF two new seperate thermostats not working+ more input needed

What a frustrating day. I got the engine running today and couldnt get it to stop trying to overheat. Tried all the usual suspects starting with the thermostat...went through 2 thermostats and finally just ran it without so I could break the engine in. Both thermos wouldnt open for some reason...

The ICT Billet are made in america otherwise I wouldnt have purchased them. America first always!! They went on flawlessly after I modified the PS pump(which was in no way ICT's fault) Update: the power steering pump modification went super smoothly. I will have a video of the procedure up...

I hate that I didnt make it. My truck just wasnt finished yet. Too many little setbacks on the last few things put me like two days behind schedule enough to make the trip. I really wanted to show off all the work Ive put in but there is hopefully another opportunity soon.

ILl be at the shop here in a few hours. I have an 82 cab that may have the rubber mounts. PSA concerning ICT Billet brackets for sbc

Haven't gotten back tot he shop yet. Its not at my house. I did pick up a step bit set today and have ordered a rebuild kit. Ill be trying my hand at this modification Saturday. Worst that can happen is I get the hole off and have to buy a reservoir. I appreciate you jumping on this when you...

On second thought...I ordered the rebuild kit and a step bit kit. Id rather have new tools over new parts in this case.
