    Steering Wheel

I ground the flat part of the pin down until it fits inside the green piece. Still no horn when I push the button. Do I need to ground the pin to something metal? I'm still unclear on how the horn is supposed to activate.

    Steering Wheel

I know it is backwards. As I said the bigger diamater of the button (flat end) won't fit in the green tube. I ended up buying dorman parts locally (83230 and 83233). Its pretty sad that the same manufacturer's parts don't fit together.

    Steering Wheel

Alright. My horn is a royal pain in the ass. Got a dorman cam and dorman horn contact. The larger diameter of the contact won't fit in the barrel of the cam. The horn contact also will not line up with the hole on the wheel adapter it needs to feed through to the horn button. I'm back to being...

Rear Leaf Center Pin and Clamps

So I guess just to verify I am imagining this correctly... You have the axle with a hole in it and you have a stack that consists of the center pin going through a plate to plate butts up against the bottom of the springs and then you put the nut on top of the spring assembly. You stick the head...

Rear Leaf Center Pin and Clamps

Thanks. I was referring to the whole spring stack though. I'm not even clear how the center pin is located in the axle. But I have replacement clamps and bolts. If I find I need more parts it's no big deal. The truck sits on my family farm. I haven't got it on the road yet.

    DBW to DBC

I am thinking of converting back to the drive by cable setup for my LS swap. I got the blue/red PCM and cable throttle body when I was at the junkyard, before I learned how to make the drive by wire setup work. The problem I am having with the DBW setup is it stalls when I am decelerating and...

Rear Leaf Center Pin and Clamps

Unless there is an exploded diagram or step-by-step guide with pictures I will have to wait to figure it out until I pull it apart. I've always been a visual learning. I've tried reading the instructions on the generalspringkc website but it's all gibberish to me until I get my hands on it.

Rear Leaf Center Pin and Clamps

I'm going from a 3" block to a 4" shackle flip. I'm sure it will have some adjusting that needs to be done. I'll worry about it when I get around to replacing the 1.25-ton springs with a lift kit from ORD. Is the plate for moving the axle forward and backward or to rotate the axle and set the...

Rear Leaf Center Pin and Clamps

Yeah. I have the u bolts. I don't know much about the plate you are talking about. I'm pretty mechanically inclined but have never messed with leaf springs.

Rear Leaf Center Pin and Clamps

3/8" SHCS, 4" long. I'm guessing pitch doesn't matter if it comes with a nut.

    EFI Fuel Pump Options

Thanks. What is the 88-91 tank you are talking about? The 89 suburban? Did your sending unit work? I think I'm going to pick up the junkyard one because it is cheap.

I've also been confused what folks mean by the 87 tank. I like the side tank on my truck. Is it the 87 R10 pickup on rockauto?

    EFI Fuel Pump Options

Yeah, I've got that from other reading. I kinda want to keep the TBI pump in there. I am not happy with the standalone harness I built I'm considering swapping to a carb and the TBI pressure would be in the same pressure range. Would an 89 junkyard sender drop in to my tank and seal correctly?

Rear Leaf Center Pin and Clamps

Does anyone have any info on the diameter, pitch, length of the center pin for the rear leaves? How about for the spring pack clamps? I'm looking for something I can buy locally at an auto parts store or 4 wheel parts. I am doing a shackle flip this weekend and removing a lift block. I would...

    EFI Fuel Pump Options

I would like to know the answer to this as well. I'm headed to the junkyard tomorrow and would like to get some parts. There is an 89 CK1500 at the yard and a bunch of vortec trucks. Can I take the sender, pump, etc. from the CK and use it as a primer pump to my externally mounted walbro? Can I...

You can set up an appointment to look at it in person. If anyone is serious about buying it, they should do that.

What was "weird" about the lifters? If they are hydraulic lifters you don't really want to lash them the same as you would with a solid roller. What do you mean "just before the exhaust starts to open"? How many degrees? The intake valve will close, there will be a travel to TDC again, spark...

Here's an example of how government equipment should be sold. Looks like a good project for someone in the pacific northwest. https://gsaauctions.gov/gsaauctions/aucitsrh/?sl=A1QSCI20087705

    SM465 Backup Lights

I found the wires for the backup lights. Just need a photo at this point to know what my clutch switch (NSS) should look like and where it would be installed.

I did mean clutch. I fear I replied in the wrong thread.
