*SOLD* Retrosound D-412 4x10 Dash Speaker

Installed for about 6 months, works perfectly fine. I bought a bigger amp to power a sub and it would be too much for this speaker. Would be a great upgrade in replacing a stock speaker, or could be used with a small amp. More info here...

    STEERING COLUMN QUESTION

Gotta love the internet. So, I found a part that may work, in large part thanks to @hatzie and his scans on the 73-87chevytrucks.com forums and gmwiki. Here is the part number I found: 7827077. I couldn't find that part anywhere, so I found a non-tilt shroud for 84-94 GM non-tilt columns...

    STEERING COLUMN QUESTION

Resurrecting an old thread because I’m looking for this same part. How did this work out for you? I found the part number for tilt models (7836010, called a “shroud”), but can’t find the part number for non-tilt. If anyone can help with that part number that would be great, too.

    Speaker pods/General stereo questions

Not to cause a thread derailment, but how do you all like the vinyl flooring? I am considering it over carpet.

    15x8 rally tire sizes

That's great to read. I've got a 5/7 I'm waiting to put on my truck (now that I finally got done with rust repair) and have been toiling over whether to keep the stock rallys. I looked back through the thread but maybe I missed it - did you get aftermarket LCAs? The truck looks awesome. Quoting...

    80' K10 sound system

You can certainly get above average audio quality for under $500. I bought this Bluetooth receiver from Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HRG75NV/. I split the power from the original radio and placed the receiver in the glovebox, so the stock radio still shows the time but is not hooked up...

    1979 headlight bezels

@bigcountry78 sorry for the delay, it only took me 3.5 weeks... I am still in rust remediation purgatory right now and pinching pennies to fund the necessary repairs. I might circle back with you but please don't hold them for me.

    1979 headlight bezels

Silly as it may seem, I didn't get to check them out over the weekend. I haven't forgot, though.

    1979 headlight bezels

Please let me know if prairiedrifter doesn't scoop them up. Of course, he's got first dibs. I wouldn't say I "need" them, but mine are pretty dinged up and I would love to replace them.

4.5/6 Mcgaughys Drop - What size tires can I run 20's?

I think the general consensus is nothing over 27-28" inches in height in the front, and 30-31" in the rear. Don't take my word for it, though. I am just parroting info I read here. Hopefully this bump will get someone with direct experience with that drop to chime in.

Wanna slam that 63-98 C10/C1500? Lets talk about it!

That was my thought after spending much of the day cruising various forums for solutions, and then I saw an awesome set of 20” wheels and 235/35 tires on Facebook marketplace. But I need to slow my roll…my truck is still in rust remediation status.

Clearance issues with lowering spindles and what you did about it…

Wish they would sell the control arms for our trucks like this (with the angle already taken out) so we didn't have to chop them up!

    15x8 rally tire sizes

Have you had the chance to drive it? Wondering how bad the rub is on the rally wheels.

Wanna slam that 63-98 C10/C1500? Lets talk about it!

OH!!! And new wheels would mean new tires... I suppose the control arms are going to be the less expensive route in the short run.

Wanna slam that 63-98 C10/C1500? Lets talk about it!

This is exactly the info I came here for. Thanks a bunch for the post. Now, the question is (thinking out loud): do I spend the money on the control arms, which could use replacing anyways, or do I put that money towards new wheels that would also eliminate the issue? My wheels have seen better...

1979 GMC Heavy Half - One Owner

Are you still happy with the 5/7 drop? I am looking at the same kit from Switch and also hoping to keep my original rally wheels. I will also install new control arms and sway bar. Have you been happy with POL? This was quite the resto. You've got an awesome truck, brother.

After market seatbelts are expensive... looking for other ideas

I spent $50 for some belts out of a C10 at a junkyard, but realized how bad of an idea that was when I was installing them. I can't tell you that retrobelt is the best on the market, but I did a lot of digging before I bought through them. I say through them, because all of the sites you will...

After market seatbelts are expensive... looking for other ideas

I am not sure what you consider crazy expensive but for being the lone safety feature in my truck, I found the prices through retrobelt not to be too terrible. https://www.retrobelt.com

    C10 Revival Oaksboro N.C. Oct.22-23

Oh, I had thought you might have had some info if considering it. I've done a lot of camping out of my daily, but not the square. You could probably get a pretty sweet set up going in the bed. The cab might be too short to get comfortable (for me, at least). I'm not likely to try and figure...

    C10 Revival Oaksboro N.C. Oct.22-23

My mind isn't capable of properly planning ahead like that...:Big Laugh: I do have family in Mebane, Mt. Pleasant and Kannapolis. So giving it a little thought now, I suppose I would stay with one of them and then drive the hour or so into Denton. What's the camping situation like?
