Suburban 3rd row seat/Blazer back seat floor mounts

hmmm....I was thinking that in the case of a crash, the seat (and mounts) would tend to pull up, and so was leaning towards mounting the buckets under the floor, just to give it a little more resistance to an upward force. I wish I had a few extras to play with, I would like to try to drill out...

Suburban 3rd row seat/Blazer back seat floor mounts

So how much overlap did you have around each mount? Also you put the mount plate on top of the floor, or underneath the floor to rivet it? And I didn't realize you could spot weld through sealer? or maybe they just squished it everywhere at the factory...

Suburban 3rd row seat/Blazer back seat floor mounts

Howdy. I am just beginning the process of adding a 3rd row seat to my 87 Suburban, which never had one. I picked up a floor section with mounts from a parts rig, and have been thinking the best/safest way to add the mounting "buckets" from the floor to mine. At first I thought they were spot...

    Pic and Pull

I haven't seen anything around here, from talking to folks when I've needed parts for newer stuff, most of them only keep vehicles 10-15 years old, older stuff gets crushed pretty quick. :( Now what we need to do is do some group buys, I just saw a parts truck complete, but not running, for...

Roof rack install pictures. Half DIY basket and Factory OEM roof rails

Rats. I used to see those all the time on the back of those conversion vans that were all over the place in the 70s and 80s...I wonder if you could cut one of those down, if you could even find one...

    LMC should be proud

well my order arrived and everything looks ok at first glance. I'm hoping to have an afternoon one of these days to install them, so I'll keep my fingers crossed...

    not-shiny bumper bolts?

that right there may just be the ticket. I was "assuming" that they were some special size or something. I will measure the length and see what the local hardware place has in grade 5 or 8. I checked that Grainger link, but they seem to have packs of 50, which is probably a bit much...

    not-shiny bumper bolts?

Howdy. I am getting ready to put a set of CUCV bumpers on, as I like the matte painted look. I will be replacing the bolts since most of them got trashed in the removal process. My question is, does anyone make a paintable set? All I can find are stainless/chrome, which I am trying to avoid. Thanks,

sweet! Where did you get that ladder? And also is all the weight of that on those little trim pieces over the doors? Will those hold?

Aw man this sucks...I just ordered a couple hundred bucks of stuff from them. Mostly door & window seals, maybe I'll be ok on those??? yikes...

    1983 Suburban diesel on CL

That does look like a lot of potential for someone who can turn a wrench. I used to know people in Oregon, and there were tons of non-rusty old cars driving around out there, I guess they don't salt the roads or something...

I bought a Jeep to fit my winch.....

I had a '69 Commando with the V6, at the time (granted 15 years ago) there was a lot of aftermarket stuff out there for it...I even found a set of headers for it...should be a fun project... ps here's a VIN decoder - the first set of numbers is the model stuff, not the sequential VIN. So it...

    Rescued another one!

I agree, lots of times they just don't want to mess with it... so I'm sure I'm not the only armchair detective waiting on pics and details of the tear down!

    Suburban Barn Door MOLLE Panel

ok cool, I found a knockoff on amazon for pretty cheap. Is there enough to cut it in half and do both rear doors, or did you use up most of it to get that door done?

    just bought a '87 Silverado V10 - needs tires -

I had 285s (about 33 x 11.5) on mine when I got it, and they did rub at full turn. Fortunately they were all worn out so I went with a narrower 33 x 10 and I love them so far. no pics yet, just got them.

    CUCV vs civilian model differences?

Yep, mine is chrome with the rubber trim strip on it. I'd like to go with a set of the CUCV painted ones, including the extra tow points, painted to match the body. Brush guard would be handy too, lots of deer out where I live. Mine are in great shape, I just like the look of the painted ones...

    CUCV vs civilian model differences?

Good info - thanks. So anyone know if the bumpers will bolt up to a civilian model? If the frame is different, are the brackets different? I'd love to put a set of the Blazer bumpers on my Suburban, if it doesn't involve a huge amount of fabrication...

    CUCV vs civilian model differences?

Good morning, not sure if this is the right forum, but after searching around I didn't find anything on it. I am wondering what the differences are between the CUCV models and the regular "civilian" models. I have found a lot of CUCV manuals online, but am not sure how applicable they would be...

    Storage boxes question: Suburban

Lowes or Home Depot (I forget which) has some black, heavy duty totes for like $20 or so, that's been my go-to for a few vehicles...maybe a half step above milk crates, lol... :)

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

I have tried contacting sellers like that in the past to try to get a foot in the door for the "future deals" but so far no luck. It would be great if there was a way to get a group of folks organized to go in together, everybody gets what they need for a lot cheaper, but I can't imagine pulling...

I understand not wanting to sell off bits & pieces individually but I always hate to see ads like that where I see parts I need!!! :)
