Has anyone have experience using a bed lift?

Another lumber user here too, mine was an leftover 4x4. A couple of ratcheting bar clamps on each side will keep the bed from trying to slide forward/backward on the board.

    Parts suppliers, apples to apples

My issue with local stores is inventory for the old junk I drive. "I can order it" they say. Guess what? I can order it too. Amazon or Summit usually here the next day and significantly cheaper. I usually invest the savings into buying the specialty tools needed to make my life easier. The loan...

    Serpentine Belt brackets

Just a heads up the 96 and up Vortec style a/c bracket will interfere with taller valve covers. Could trim it down if you don't have a/c though

Upper control arm bracket bolts help?

Gotta be 3/8-16 or 7/16-20. Preferably grade 8. Go to your local hardware store and get 1 of each. Whichever fits the hole is what I would use

Rough and shaking 350 after changing spark plugs

Might be the problem if the choke isn't opening. Making it run really rich after it warms up.

    Turn signal.

I had a similar issue and if there's any rust or corrosion between the bed and frame you won't get a good ground for the lights. Unless it was just my truck there was no ground cable from the frame to bed from the factory. A braided ground cable at the rear fixed mine.

    OEM Starter options?

The Vortec/gear reduction/mini starter is worth it in weight savings alone. So much easier to replace and not have to wrestle the heavy direct drive stocker up in there while trying to get the bolts started.

    Replacing intake manifold+gaskets

I start by bumping the engine over until the rotor is pointing straight ahead to pull the distributor. Mark your plug wires and cap with masking tape and a sharpie and any vacuum lines you have. Pull the drain plug on the lower part of the block about midways back. It's gonna make a mess no way...

    Biggest meat for the street

My 31x10.50 measure under 30" on a 15x8. 255/70/15 is a good size and is usually easier to find in a street tread too.

The 383 is finally going in!

I'd start with the fuel/trans cooler lines and starter/distributor/EFI wiring while you have the radiator support off.

    Speedometer inaccurate and bounces

The small seal in the housing is most likely worn. The spot on the gear where the seal rides can get worn also. Mine did the same until I replaced it. Mine is 2wd but I'm sure the 4wd is similar.

3/4-Ton 2wd Rear Spring Replacement: Advice?

The bolts may be frozen/rusted in the bushing sleeves. I would start spraying them with penetrating oil a week or 2 beforehand.

    Blue Print or GM Performance

I've been happy with my Blueprint crate so they get my vote. Their ad says it works with factory tuning. Roller cam vs the GM flat tappet. I've read of too many flat tappet failures the last few years to trust em from anyone. Just my opinion.

Ac Delco ignition module not compatable wIth duralast distributor?

The pic you posted with your finger on the terminal I'm almost positive is #8. Did you mark the wires when you changed the module out?

Ac Delco ignition module not compatable wIth duralast distributor?

This happened to me with a standard HEI and i had accidently put the plug wires on 1 terminal over all through the firing order. You would think it would pop, backfire, or something but nope, just spun over. Something to check.

    Can you clean gauges?

Mine smeared some when I tried to wipe them with Invisible Glass brand cleaner. Wiping with a dry cloth to get the dust off is your best bet. Testors fluorescent orange and a small paint brush for the needles fixes em up good

    New guy 79 C10

My name is Matt and I live in Southeast TN. Figured I'd just post a video that my buddy primeredisbest did of my truck I bought from my brother a few years back. Started as a beater and has snowballed into a project truck. Truck is a 79, since I've had it I've rebuilt and lowered the...

Flip kit ended up too low. Now what?

I see this on more often and don't understand why lower it with a flip kit only to raise it back up with lift shackles/air shocks/helper bags. You can get the same drop with drop hangers/shackles and pulling the overload out. 8 bolts and a couple clamps for the filler/vent hose pulls the bed...

How can I shield these electrical connections?

Looks like all that would fit inside a GM underhood storage box from an OBS truck. That or a cheap battery box.
