Here's a pic of right bank 2,4,6,8. In the middle of tearing this seized Target Master engine apart.

    Seized engine?

Yes you need a replacement. I bought my suburban last year and my dad and I had to use a flat bar and hammer it to turn over the engine but it wouldn't turn a full 360°. We removed the cylinder heads and found exhaust valves 5 and 7 were dropped. It was a Target Master engine.

    Suburban tail gate not opening

So an update on the unmovable tailgate window... I installed the window motor. Turned the ignition to on, pushed the downside of the switch and it came down an inch and stopped. So I tried pushing the up part of the switch and got no upward movement. Tried down and came another 1/2 inch and got...

Any of you parts guys and gals whom have dealt with the intermediate pipe that connects to the "Y" pipe. What is the part number of this? Any part number from any vendor would be appreciated. I tried looking up Walkers parts number for this and was unsuccessful. Or this this a custom bend...

    Suburban tail gate not opening

When the weather gets better (probably a month from now) I will put the battery in and reinstall the motor and test it to see if the window goes up and down. I will update here when I do

    Suburban tail gate not opening

I took a pic of the motor. Had a friend take it apart. Unfortunately didn't get pics of the inside but it was dirty. I got it back together and added 9vdc to motor out of frame but it wouldn't turn. The armature is trying to do something. Wondering if it needs to be grounded in frame for it to...

C50 to C10 dash and cluster interchangeable?

I saw one of those workhorses. Like you mentioned the difference is the bottom left hand corner using the air brake gauge. Too bad there isn't an rpm gauge to fit in that air brake spot!

    Will tires fit 15x8 rims

Good to know. With factory style rims it shouldn't need at all correct?

    Will tires fit 15x8 rims

I have 15x8 rims with 4.25 backspace to install on an 80' gmc suburban. The tires I got are 31x10.5 r15. These tires should fit the rims right? And would 1/4" spacers help clear the front tie rods?

    Hello and help!

Don't forget to check continuity on the wires. I bought a set and half the wires was out of range. Bought another set and checked them and they were okay. I believe the specs are 6-12k on a V8 350

modern size wheels that fit squarebody chevies

You need spacers in the front especially on the right side to clear the ball joint on the tie-rod end. 1/4" spacer just clears it.

I would bring mechanic's or chicken wire in case something drags . As for spare parts wouldn't hurt to have a spare alternator and v belts

    Suburban tail gate not opening

Hi, I am new to this and first time working on a carbureted vehicle let alone a truck Please excuse my ignorance to the technology I'm unfamiliar with. So I have a 1980 GMC Suburban k10 350 with a tailgate. What I understand is the glass needs to come down before the tailgate can be open. There...

    Need help deciding

I'm a fan of the early squarebodies. I'd say go for the 77' as it's rare to see that era. Those hubcaps threw me off made me think its a k20.

    Rust converters and Frame paint

I intend to sandblast the chassis and undercarriage and use automotive primer by Dominion Sure Seal Ltd. with activator to have a strong bond to metal. Paint I will probably use the same paint company but in black for the undercarriage

truck idles fine dies when put in gear

Just check and make sure your vacuum lines are connected proper to your sticker under the hood. There is probably a vacuum leak in a hairline crack in an old line. If you say idle is at 800. Any way to bring it into the 700's? That'll improve your vacuum reading a bit.
