Rims won't fit on rear with drums.

Yours has the stretched lip on the outer edge as well? Mine is a 1980 also. LOL! Wish I can machine it flush without compromising the structural integrity. I'm sure mentioning this thought will fling some angry arms in the air from some group members!

Rims won't fit on rear with drums.

It's possible. GM#: 359493 is stamped on the lip of the drum that's interfering. I assumed it's the proper one? I thought I was clear with going OE style but clearly I am wrong here. Ugh!!

Rims won't fit on rear with drums.

I have seen a couple brands like Raybestos and the lip is lower. I have not gone shopping as I have used rims I have been wheeling around on I can use. I need to get tires changed over so I can drive and enjoy it for now.

Rims won't fit on rear with drums.

Pictured is the inner part of the rim. Outer lips of drum is interfering with raised lips inside of the rim. You can see the paint scratched off on the edges. I agree they're fabricated incorrectly.

Rims won't fit on rear with drums.

Bought these rims new OE style 15" chevy rims 62-5806044 off Summit last year. I painted them and went to mount them the other day. They will not fit on the rear has the inner lips of the rims are interfering with the outer edge of the drums. Are there aftermarket drums to allow the rims to fit...

    '84 K20 Suburban Tailgate

Best to remove the electric motor and maneuver the glass down into the tailgate to trip the lock mechanism to open the tailgate. It's different and more complicated than the Blazer/Jimmy unfortunately

Dash cluster light - Electrical Circuit Number 8 question

I am having the same problem I am having the same problem with mine. 1980 gmc suburban k10. Dash lights up but not the gauge cluster. I see the 1212 sticker on the bundle but the orange wire is connected on a different terminal. I cannot move it to the LPS spot due to shape. I changed majority...

    Can I put a np203 in my 84’ K10 that originally had the 208?

    So k10, k20 and k30 used the NP205. Cool. What's the difference/upgrades from. 205 to 208? 208 more heavy duty?

    Bad Proportioning Valve?

The cap you mean the top brake warning sensor wiring? I squeezed the sides to remove the wire cap from the white plastic sensor and removed the lines and removed the whole assembly. Removed left and right ports to allow you to Move the shuttle/spool. In order to see that it's centred you have...

    Can I put a np203 in my 84’ K10 that originally had the 208?

    That's interesting. I have an NP205 and mine is a k10 from 1980

    Bad Proportioning Valve?

I had to remove my proportioning valve and centre the spool so it wouldn't trigger the sensor. As much as it was a pain to remove and and adjust, it was cheaper than buying a new one. It took a bit of "shuttling" looking down the hole to see its centred. You're probably have to remove it and...

Rough country 2 in lift leafs

You installed the rear 2" lift springs from rough country with no issues? Isn't the total length 49" when it's called for 52"? So once you install the rear leafs it will stretch enough and keep the 2" desired? I'm debating on purchasing but the length is stopping me especially the price north of...

    No dash lights

I had the same thing with my turn signals inside on the dash not illuminating and outside works. Fortunately the bulbs were the issue. Now I have no gauge lights and that's after I changed the 194 bulbs! Now I got to dig deeper and check the fuse later

    1987 GMC Suburban

Welcome to the group. The Haynes manual #24064(420) has been helpful on some jobs but not as much on others. You will need supplemental online material if you have tailgate window wiring issues.

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

this is my proportioning valve before I removed it. Yes I had to remove mine to move the spool/shuttle to centre it because it grounded out. Remarkably all the lines broke free without bending or cracking! The sensor connector on top you have to squeeze the sides to remove it from the sensor...

Brake pedal sinks to floor engine on

Don't know if this helps but did you check the proportioning/prop valve? (Brass looking part under the radiator). If your brake warning light is on check it. The spool may have shifted.
