    Towing with a 305 V8?

If you have a 700R4, DO NOT tow in OD (This warning should be in the Owner's Manual under "Towing").

Lift too tall. Suggestions on steps or bars to get in

Not to be sarcastic, but remove the lift kit. 35" tires on a truck is lift enough.

    New here from AZ

Welcome to the forum from N. Texas! Lived at 87th and Indian School in early 70's while in F-4 school at Luke. Don't remember Surprise being much more than a gas stop on US 60 on the way to Wickenburg. Looks like it has grown a little!

    C vs K 8 bolt rims

A Note I saved on my Computer years ago : Ford 8 Lug Pattern Change 1. What year did or when did ford switch from the 8 lug on 6.5 hole pattern to a 8 lug x 170mm hole pattern I thought I got a good deal on some winter rims and tires off a 02 excursion they were the steel wheels and centers...

Picked up my first classic truck

I just looked at the photos, and your truck has 2 tanks. Please snap a photo of the RPO decal. I think on a '73, it's in the engine compartment. Will let us know if the left tank was factory installed. For everyone: did the early trucks have a tank selector on the dash by the ashtray? I also...

Picked up my first classic truck

Sounds like the new fuel you pumped into the tank stirred up all the garbage sitting on the bottom of the fuel tank. May be worth your while to look into another tank (new or used). Other option is to pull the existing tank and clean it like you do to your little one's high chair. Regardless of...

Picked up my first classic truck

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think all "normal" fuel has the same ethanol percentage, regardless of location (mandated by our smarter than us peons-Federal regulators). That's why I recommended looking for ethanol free. Costs more than "normal" fuel, but well worth it with no...

What new tools have you got lately?

Great looking "Square". I wanted one those in 1970, as I knew Uncle Sam was going to be first job I had. Couldn't find one in decent enough shape to spend the money on (they were pricey that year). Instead, found a 1970 El Camino with a 350 that had AC. My first vehicle with air. Wish I still...

Picked up my first classic truck

Welcome from N. Texas! Sounds like it may be as simple as old/bad gas. Drain out as much as you can get; replace the fuel filters, and buy a couple cans of Sea Foam. Works wonders on gunked up fuel lines, carbs, water in gas, etc. Might also want to search for ethanol free gas.

What new tools have you got lately?

Thanks. I found several on FB Marketplace for $500 (1/2 inch). Not sure I want to buy used, don't know how many times it's been dropped, or how long since it was calibrated. OBTW, what does a calibration cost from a Snap-on mobile dealer?

What new tools have you got lately?

I really need (want?) one these little jewels. I bought my first torque wrench (Craftsman) when I came back from SEA. Alas it has given up the ghost, and no spare parts are available to repair it. Anybody know what one of these jewels runs off the Snap-On truck? Maybe Santa will be good to me...

    Driver Vent Window

Getting to the last minute items on the 1991 Suburban V1500. The driver side vent is giving us fits. Everything we touch seems to bend, break or not fit. Rather than throw $40 bills at this one, has anyone purchased one of the LMC complete vent window assemblies? Your experiences and thoughts on...
