    Timing??

I have a 1977 Chevy K10 with the 350 small block. I just had the intake and carb replaced. While that work was being done we noticed the distributor was in pretty bad shape so we put in a new one. I didn't noticed the following issue prior to that work. For the issue.. When the truck is in...

    Electric Choke Question

I have actually moved it and it is no longer touching any metal. Before the glass could not physically touch any metal but I was still worried about it as the metal housing could so I moved it and it is now resting on a hose instead.

    Add a Tach

I have the cluster without a clock so my brake light is on the bottom left.. though it doesn't currently work. I think my 4 wheel drive light or seat belt light is what I'd lose but that doesn't bother me since its pretty easy to tell when I'm in 4 which is rare and it also doesn't currently...

    Electric Choke Question

Right? I've pumped plenty of gas in my time but its funny when I ride with someone across the border to Washington that hasn't and they have no idea what to do. I think its for more jobs. I think we pay more gas tax than most places too. Average gas price in Oregon ($2.77) is higher than...

    Electric Choke Question

Here is a pic of my setup. Again, once I'm convinced I dont have any particulates getting into the filter on a regular basis I'll switch to a Holley metal inline filter.

    Electric Choke Question

Good to know! I'm in Oregon and I have never noticed any of those signs but we are also not allowed to pump our own gas. Though I do go to a local station that lets me because they are afraid of pumping it too fast or too full and spilling out. And for some reason they have a hard time...

    Electric Choke Question

Doesn't all fuel have ethanol in it? I personally run the lower octane regular gas but put some fuel additive every so often. My '77 is my daily driver so I dont do anything special for fuel. Should I still replace the O-rings?

    Electric Choke Question

Thanks! I currently have the one below. Based on all the feedback I'll probably replace it with a metal one in a couple of months once I'm convinced I dont have any fuel line corrosion issues...

    Electric Choke Question

All great info guys. I appreciate it. The reason for the glass filter is because I believed I had some fuel line issues. The truck sat for 10 years and when I started working on it I replaced both gas tanks and the fuel pump but not the fuel line. My QuadraJet had a built in filter that...

    Electric Choke Question

Got my carb in and the electric choke wired up. Thanks for all the help! Question, I seem to have a pretty high idle when cold and the high idle screw adjustment doesn't seem to be helping much. Also, sometimes when its cold it idles really rough until I rev it a few times and it smooths out...

    Add a Tach

Thanks for letting me know about the font. I painted my needles with silver reflective needle paint when I replaced my circuit, bulbs and lens and have some left over for this. How much of the cluster housing did you have to cut out? Is your distributor OEM and if so was it plug and play or...

    Add a Tach

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

    Add a Tach

I couldn't find the tach/fuel combo on LMC but I did find some on other sites. I like the idea of that setup. How much wiring would be necessary? I assume that wouldn't be just plug and play since my cluster didn't originally support a tach.

    Add a Tach

I have a 1977 Scottsdale K10. It has the original cluster without a tachometer. I'd really like to add one. Does anybody have any advice on which one to get, how hard it is to install and placement options? Thanks in advance!

    Setup thoughts?

Thats a nice looking QJet! I didn't get rid of mine. I kept the original intake and carb and may have it rebuilt. At the least I'll keep it around for sentimental value.

    Setup thoughts?

Thanks, I'll dial down the fast idle screw a bit and see if that helps! I think I had a really poorly tuned and built Quadrajet because this Holley is running sweet compared to it. The throttle response is night and day and it seems like I have quite a bit more power now. Going to be getting...

    Setup thoughts?

Thanks! I watched a video on Holley.com on how to adjust the electric choke. Looks like you loosen the screws on the choke, hold the throttle all the way open, open the choke all the way, close it all the way and then open it just a bit and tighten the screws and let go of the throttle. That...

    Setup thoughts?

Thanks guys! I wired it to ignition slot in the fuse box and threw on an inline fuse. I haven't put in the oil pressure switch yet so I'll have to be careful and not keep the key on with the engine off. How long would it take to do damage to the carb if I do? Now I just need to adjust the...

    Electric Choke Question

Hi all, I am putting a new carb on my 77 k10 that has an electric choke and the previous one did not. I'm trying to determine the best place to wire it. I know it needs a good 12 volt ignition connection. What are your recommendations? Thanks for your help!

Anyone know how to get to this switch?

Having a hard time finding that part. Do you think these would work or do you know where I can pick up two of the 14014578's? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Qty-Nos-GM-Door-Jamb-Light-Switch-Chevy-Classic-Car-Truck-67-68-69-70-71-72-75-/161743677534?hash=item25a8aca85e:g:V0UAAOxyYTRSY1n8&vxp=mtr

    Blinker Indicator Issue

No, i didn't work with the old circuit, clips or bulb. It was an issue for my dad before as well. He just lived with it.

Thanks, its been a fun journey getting it back in shape.

    Blinker Indicator Issue

Yes, the red brake light indicator that should only be on when the parking break is on. It never worked before. Then it started coming on when it was cold and went back off when the truck warmed up (maybe a coincidence) but now it stays on all the time.

    Blinker Indicator Issue

Thanks! I'll give those a try. I did replace all of the bulb plugs when I did the circuit and bulbs. Now I have to figure out why suddenly my brake light that has never worked stays on all the time.

    Setup thoughts?

Here is the problem... This was originally my dad's truck and he had the engine rebuilt about 20 years ago by a very reputable local Chevy engine rebuild guy. It only has about 10,000 miles since that work but it sat for a long time. I had to replace the tanks, and lines as they were rusted...
