Anyone use edelbrock universal EFI fuel sump Kit w 2 tanks

I would switch to a two line mechanical pump(they were optional on all year squares) and then just run the feed out of the mechanical pump to the sump. Then, run the return from the EFI sump to the original return line on the frame rail that used to go to the three line mechanical pump.

Anyone use edelbrock universal EFI fuel sump Kit w 2 tanks

It seems like it would work perfectly if you are doing something like a holley Sniper system or Pro-Flow on an otherwise carbureted system. You would just swap the hard line from the mechanical fuel pump to the carburetor out for AN lines going from the mechanical pump to the sump and then out...

    Pulling all the smog stuff

On my 2011 to support the 6.2L upgrade, I ran long tube headers to 3" high flow cats that then merge into a single 3.5" pipe with a resonator then into a single Flowmaster 50 series big block muffler. It is very free flowing, still has the cats to kill the smell and be marginally legal, and is...

Exhaust single to dual on a tight budget - Then we get into some after issues

I had headers and dual 2.25" exhaust with some cheapo turbo mufflers on my 73 C20 with a 350 and they were very quiet. I ended up needing to do that because the exhaust that was on it when I bought it was completely rusted through. Too quiet for me. My K20 now has dual 3" with Flowmaster...

    Re-power 1982 GMC Sierra Classic K1500

Where is LINY? I'm sure you can find something, but be sure you scope and inspect anything you get... especially around that price range. Lots of vehicles available in that area that were scrapped due to flood damage and likely have trashed engine/trans from salt water getting into everything...

    Re-power 1982 GMC Sierra Classic K1500

Pull out your wallet and get ready. That's a pricy drivetrain combo... is there a reason for you looking at that specifically? You can get a Gen IV 5.3 or 6.2/6L80 setup for about 1/4 of the price of a Gen V setup and you'll get very similar power and efficiency numbers with them. I got a fairly...

    Fusible link replacement

You have to have special crimping tools to not damage the ones with heat shrink pre-installed. If you don't have the right crimping tool, the insulated crimps are garbage. If you are installing it in an engine bay or other areas exposed to water or the environment, you need to have it...

    Fusible link replacement

That's what I was going to say. Use not insulated crimp but splice with quality heat shrink over it in any area exposed to the elements.

Need advice on Tuning a Quad

Yeah, base timing is a crapshoot. You have no idea what has been done to the distributor. I would suggest getting a piece of paper and do this: 1. With everything plugged in and the engine warm at idle, record the timing. 2. Unplug the vacuum advance and plug it on the carb side, record...

Need advice on Tuning a Quad

Your going to get way too far into this if you try replacing the secondary rods. You are good on the cruise AFR.. don't mess with it. You would need to do like matt says and drive it while leaning it out, but first you need to modify the air horn and get the right tool. I've never seen a...

Need advice on Tuning a Quad

You need to adjust the idle mixture screws on the front to get your idle AFR around 14.5-14.9:1. You are rich at idle, perfect at cruise, and lean at WOT. You can richen up WOT by bending the secondary hanger rods up ever so slightly. I recommend using the little paper measuring "L" that came...

    AC Confusion-Need Help

Yep, you should have kept that. You can buy brand new manifold/lines for the A4 and everything would have bolted up just like stock. You can get rebuild kits for the compressor for about $25 and it's pretty easy to do. If you still have it, I'd go back to the stock setup and stop worrying about...

    TH-400 Engagement Delay?

Also make sure you aren't using a paper element filled filter. My TH400 will start to whine when it's cold if you use a box store paper filled filter in it. Use an AC Delco TF231, it's the high flow version that has a brass screen inside instead.

    AC Confusion-Need Help

Did it originally have one of the long A-4 compressors? Why did you switch to a passenger side mounting? You will likely need to get a hose kit from one of the companies like Vintage air and then have a local hydraulic hose company crimp the end fittings on them once you have cut the hoses to...

1995 454 tbi fuel pump & pressure recommendations

keep the pump and sender from the 98. The 94-95 454TBI called for 30psi instead of the prior years and 350's that called for ~12psi. The EP381 that came on the vortec trucks will supply enough fuel for about 450-500hp before you need to start thinking about an upgrade.

    Engine identification

That all matches. The 010 block is the most common 350 block. It was used for everything 350 for about 30 years. The engine stamping number tells you what the specific assembly was in regards to piston, cam, heads, intake, etc... that were used and the rated power that gave in the stock...

    Engine identification

Here's my best guess. The V at the front means it was built in Flint, Mi. 04 means it was built in April, 30 means it was built on the 30th day of April. I think the suffix is actually "TJC", not "7JC" "TJC" is a 73 or 74 350 equipped with a 4bbl carb and manual transmission in a truck.

    Engine identification

The last 2 or 3 letters are all that matter there. The first letter is the assembly plant and the numbers are the assembly date codes. Your engine suffix code is "JC". If you look at that suffix code in the lime book : http://www.camaros.org/pdf/LimeBook.pdf you see that JC was only used on Big...

Whats you gas mileage on your squarebody truck?

After getting an AFR meter on the truck and dialing in the Carb I'm getting about 10-12 depending on how much I'm beating on it. That's 35x12.5" tires, 4" lift, and 350/TH400/NP205 with 4.10 gears. The engine has a small summit 1102 cam, ~9:1 static compression and stock 882 heads.

    Oil pressure sensor 305 / 350

The TBI is different than what he has on his 85. You will need to look at what you have. If it is a single wire, it is the oil pressure sending unit. Two pins will be a pressure switch for the fuel pump. Three pins means it is a combined sender/switch. Generally the pressure sender is near the...

'87 - 5.7 TBI, Separate Temp Sensor & Sending Unit?

The later years(GMT-400) they went to a three wire sending unit/switch combo unit instead of two separate units. If the plug on the sending unit on the back of the engine has three wires, it is a combo unit and does both sending unit duty(single wire) and switch duty for the fuel pump(other two...
