    Windshield rubber trim piece

Not near as hard as installing the windshield/gasket. But virtually impossible without the trim tool. Get one of those and you’ll be golden.

    Rim compatibility

Agree, find a 16” wheel. And if/when the truck needs new tires, scrap the 16.5 wheels unless they’re special. Even then it would be a tough call to continue running them. Most any OE type 8x6.5 lug pattern wheel will work. All the old steel wheels from the big 3 mfgs, Ford up thru ‘97, GM thru...

    1984 k10 suspension upgrades questions???

I’m interested to hear theories which is better. Drop Pittman or drag link. I don’t have a lot of experience with lifted solid axle trucks. But they’ve all had drop Pittman arms. But offset drag link seems just as solid for strength and geometry.

    Thinkin about my Jetta

My opinion is why spend $3-4k on a car that’s worth $3-4k when you’re done. They’re dime a dozen for that price. Around here at least.

What have you done to your square lately??

I haven’t done a tank swap, but I’m impressed at the consistency and accuracy of all 4 tanks in both squares. When the needle hits dead on E, or quits bouncing in the 86, there is a couple or 3 gallons left in the tank. I’ve tested both tanks in the new to me 77 and they run about 30 miles...

What have you done to your square lately??

Blowing fuses is indicative of a live short. Could be in one of the turn signal light bulb plugs or wire rubbed through somewhere. That’s my thoughts

    Can I put a np203 in my 84’ K10 that originally had the 208?

Depends how much you’re gonna drive it and what your budget is. T case should be essentially free if it’s a good rebuilt 350. Worth more if you can get the crossmember, linkage and maybe some short bed driveshafts. Otherwise that stuff costs money and you have to get a part time kit. (You...

    Emblem help needed?

I think the easier way to figure it out is to look at a 73/74 brochure. Look up Dezos Garage. And check out the early- mid 70s pics. Then go on the hunt for what you want or something similar. You’ll either luck upon some used OE ones from ….somewhere, or find some re-pops that are at least...

    R12 Replacement

I think there’s more to it than just dumping 134a into an old R12 system, no?

12 bolt didferential gear ratio identification

Look like it has a 132:2 ratio. Decoding to 64:1. Lol Kidding. Presuming you don’t have a tach in it, or you could figure it out while driving with your phone gps and tire diameter. a 6 banger 1/2 ton van was not built to tow much of anything or haul a lot of weight, so original wouldn’t be...

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

What it means is not “clapped suspension” etc, it’s no more or less than the name of the part applies. It’s load on the rear brakes. Or more accurately how much friction do you have on the road. A stock 3/4 ton with pizza cutter tires aired to 50-80 psi with an empty truck bed will probably lock...

What’s IT Worth? (Post all “what’s it worth threads here)

Prices really are fickle though as said above. And so many asking so much $ for complete cr@p and then super high priced if they’re nice, you kinda never know where they land without a what’s it worth discussion like this. And unless I really want something gone, I generally don’t come down 10%...

    Starter not disengaging, shim it?

Not sure why I’m seeing there. Is it a broken tooth on the starter sprocket? Do they line up well w the flex plate? Are you sure it’s got the right starter in it?

    Repairing damage on brown truck

I’d be prepared with the value of your truck and the “other” shop quote. Never dealt with a no fault state, but I can say EVERY ins adjuster is out there to make money for the insurance company. Even if you have to postpone the deal and get more quotes etc. But bottom line, it’s a little dent...

Regearing Advice... What do I need?

Maybe? Honestly I’d likely not make the swap otherwise. Truck is a Sunday driver and it would be a ways down our list of projects. Plus, yours is a 78 so presuming it’s a 14ff and Dana front. His is an 86 so 14sf and 10bolt front or whatever it is. Not sure they’re the same. Appreciate it...

Regearing Advice... What do I need?

My advice. If your axles are both good shape, bring your truck over here. I’ll literally you swap your 3.42s for the kids 4.10s. For free. If you paint them black and swap my brakes and hubs (unless yours are nicer lol) I’ll provide the beer too. Don’t even need to bring tools. You must have...

    GMT 800 cab corners/rockers rust?

So I’m sure many of you are familiar with these trucks. Looking at a cat eye reg cab pickup. ( Not in person yet, it’s 9 hours away in MT). Been a MT truck it’s whole life but it’s an original 50k mile grampa truck that by all accounts is absolutely pristine. Undercarriage pics look beautiful...
