What have you done to your square lately??

Lube locker gasket if one is available. Have been very pleased with all of the ones I have used. Somewhere around 6 of them, and have two more to be installed. Rear ends and transmissions.

    Emmissions and Vacuum Routing Help

The one in the first photo, I have a couple of suspicions, but that is based on 70's trucks. I know the 80's got more complex with the thermo-vacuum switches and such. Does the truck have the EFE setup on the passenger side manifold?

    Emmissions and Vacuum Routing Help

The one on the center rear of the carb is for a hot air choke, looks as you have an electric choke, so you can just cap it. It allows the hot air choke to draw from filtered air.

What have you done to your square lately??

The issue is that they wire the motor directly to the pressure switch rather than through a magnetic starter. The pressure switch can hold up, but they just are not designed for that purpose, for that much load/inrush current. All in an effort to reduce costs/race to the bottom I’m sure. Emax...

What new tools have you got lately?

On the subject of blow guns, my Menards has these, bought one a couple weeks ago for the shop and have been pleased, bought another for work. The needle tips work nicely for blowing chips out of bores and such. Do a lot of small hole work, say 1/4 to 5/16 and smaller boring, threading etc...

What new tools have you got lately?

The one posted above, I'd spitball they are 1.5x30" belts, which may or may not be a local item, but certainly available from your favorite industrial supplier. Sanding belts can be made to pretty much any dimensions, I have a box of 5x173" belts and at work there was some communication errors...

Suburban leaf spring choice - sagging rear - question on stock ride height

For a data point, every 2nd gen dodge 4x4 truck has 4" factory blocks in the rear. 1500's to 3500's all have them. Now stacking blocks on the other hand...

Suburban leaf spring choice - sagging rear - question on stock ride height

You may not know, squarebody trucks the front fender opening is taller than the rear wheel opening is. I do not recall what the difference is but I’d say about 2” I’d re-measure at the upper body line or bottom of the rocker panel and see what you get.

Farm/industrial auction sites like purple wave or big iron might be a place to look. Most of the lots are located in the Midwest though.

What have you done to your square lately??

White or a cream color might look pretty good on a blue truck. The 19’s and 20’s don’t look bad, but I think offering those designs in 15” or 16” offerings would have been a hot seller, on top of the larger sizes.
