WTB 454 Rev. Rot. Fan for 454 Serpentine

What part of country are you in? There was a guy in Phoenix parting out a '90 truck with a 454. I was going to call him about the core support this weekend and I'll ask the status of the brackets.

WTB 454 Rev. Rot. Fan for 454 Serpentine

I've never looked at the BBC conversion brackets before. Pretty cool. One thing I don't like on my '90 CC is that everything is serpentine but the AC which is V-belt. I have been passively searching for a set that was all serpentine so now I have another option.

    4mm vs 6mm back glass. What's best?

I think I'm going to do the 6mm just because I can and it might be quieter.

    Removing overload.

Yes, no, and possibly yes. But in reality, you'll have the same drop as every other flip done. Yes...you would in theory have less of a drop as the starting point has been reduced. The total amount of flip has been reduced over baseline but the final result will be the same. No...Since you are...

    4mm vs 6mm back glass. What's best?

Mild RV 454 w/ headers. But adding a small centrifugal blower for towing when I build a 502.

    4mm vs 6mm back glass. What's best?

...but is there any advantage? I'm adding 50 pounds of insulation to the interior so I doubt an extra pound or two of glass would kill my mpg

    4mm vs 6mm back glass. What's best?

73-76 back glass is 6mm and 77-91 is 4mm. Any benefit to using the 73-76 glass on my '90 CC. Quieter, stronger? Both are the same price and appear to use the same seal.

    Mystery Switch

DON'T mess with it. There's a guy two streets over that's garage door opens and closes every time you switch it.

    Lowering a 1984 silverado

4-5" if you plan on using it as a truck. 6" flip if you don't plan on carrying much weight. Otherwise you'll have to notch to tow/haul more than a few hundred pounds.

    1 Pc Window

I love the looks of the 1 piece conversions however I haven't seen any that didn't require some occasional adjustment or that would jam up on the trucks. I would love to do it on my own trucks but I don't believe that they are reliable enough for daily use. OPP claims to be the first but I can...

Anyone use the fog light bumpers that LMC and others sell?

Increased Cooling with Electric Fan and Electric Water Pump

This! Flush the block, hoses, radiator. I even recommend removing the plugs at the bottom of block and making sure they aren't clogged. I like using the Mr. Gasket Rad caps that have the built in gauge as a second source of truth. Flush the heater core as well. Buy a good replacement water...

Truck shut off at stopsign on occasion should open my damper permenatly ?

My experience with those ecm's are they are very reliable and either work or don't work so I don't think that's the issue. How do you know you are flooding it when starting? You can visually see and smell fuel? Is gas tank full or low when this happens? Some of what you are describing...

Truck shut off at stopsign on occasion should open my damper permenatly ?

When it "dies" ...is it trying to run but dies or does it just shut off like a switch? Does it idle fine and only dies after a hard stop? Does it restart immediately? Any other drivability issues?

    Steering gear bolts

Inspect the frame well for cracks and install a brace(ORD/ Autofab) as long as you are already in there.

400 SBC Build - Tight Budget

Is this motor torn down already? If the crosshatch is still there and no ridge, I'd clean it, run a dingleberry hone, new bearings including cam, decarb the pistons and ring lands, use cast rings only, install RV cam, buy some decent aluminum heads and have the steam holes drilled(Summit, Jegs...

    Ride-tech street grip

You're master and booster will work fine provided they were in good shape to start with. You'll have enough vacuum as well. If you are new to front suspension, you do need to be careful pulling the front spring. I always use a strap or chain on it so it doesn't shoot across the floor.

    MACHINING 16.5" DOWN TO 16"?

Similar issue with 5th wheels. I really want a small toy hauler which is hard to find and salesman kept showing me 3 axle stuff. I mentioned my truck was a '90 and the truck is rated for up to 13k. A lot of the toy haulers are way over that when loaded and he has heard of insurance not paying...

    Front caliper upgrade?

I bought a set for my sons truck as part of the brake upgrade and I felt was a very high quality part. They go on sale every once in awhile and I believe I paid roughly $275 for a pair unloaded through CPP 2-3 years ago. Stock calipers rebuilt will cost you almost half that so an extra $150 was...

How do I use the tank selector on 1973 Camper Special

I had a '72 in '95-96ish and it had 3 tanks(behind seat, and a R/L 30 gallon) with a similar switch on the floor. Mechanical fuel pump and the truck had to be running to switch to the side tanks or it would only pull from behind the seat. As a side note, only filled up all 3 one time. New Union...

Looking for 3 panel rear sliding glass

While I do like the 4 panels, this is for a crew cab and I believe the 3 panel would be easier for me to open/close while standing outside the truck. I believe a four panel, I'll have to get in the back seat each time to reach the passenger side.

Looking for 3 panel rear sliding glass

I checked DK like you suggested in my other thread and only the 4 panel from them. Hopefully I can find some old stock somewhere.

Looking for 3 panel rear sliding glass

Kind of where I am at too. Holleys is definitely the 4 panel. OPP has a manual roll down coming out in a month and a power version a few months later. I wasn't able to get an anticipated price but I would think a $1000 or more. I might just put a solid in now and see what I can find in a few...
