    Spare Tire Carrier Option?

Thought about that but what dissuaded me from it was the thought of having to access the tire when having a load in the bed.

    Spare Tire Carrier Option?

Figured I'd add this here to keep it all together. Wrapped up (for now) the Benz tire carrier. Was trying to figure a way to secure the cage and this was the closest/quickest I could find. Will probably revisit the whole thing later when the bed and bumper is on but it work for now. Found...

    Unidentified Laying Objects

    Unidentified Laying Objects

Found these in a box with all the 'old' parts but not sure if they were off my SB or maybe something I pulled off the replacement radiator support or something like that. I dont toss anything if its usable, needs to be refurbed or once its replacement is installed. TIA

I hate the power window and door lock switches

Mounting something better would be interesting as the odd ergonomics of the factory door panel matches everything else in the cab when it comes to changing or upgrading. I'd like to find something lighted....if possible.

What have you done to your square lately??

Wrapped up (for now) the Benz tire carrier. Was trying to figure a way to secure the cage and this was the closest/quickest I could find. Will probably revisit the whole thing later when the bed and bumper is on but it work for now. Found these brackets online - only idea as to what they...

    1983 Chevy K10 Cab Search

Magnesium chloride is the new preferred rust accelerator.....they say its will rot steel 4x faster than salt. My buddy's son is a Ford tech in Pittsburgh, one of the first places for mag-chloride. They have 4 yr old (from new) vehicles coming in with the steering racks and whole front...

    Finding Serpentine Belt Lengths

Belt #4 was perfect. Felt like I was playing Name That Tune.....I can guess that belt length in 5 tries. I can get it in 4. Name that length.

    That's a new one!

My ex-sister in law might be nearby.....300+lbs and a flatulence problem. That would definitely set off seismographs.

    Finding Serpentine Belt Lengths

So I find what I believe is the perfect size. Was exactly the length I measured and fit well. Only oddity it was a cheap house brand from OReillys. I order an AC Dilbert gold belt in the same size only to find out they run differently. Fits well but has too much give IMO. Barely pushing I can...

    Power window motor?

Sounds like it. Just curious....have you added any relays at all?

    Finding Serpentine Belt Lengths

I have an original AC Delco serpentine belt kit for my motor but with all the customizing, etc. its too short. I ran a cloth measuring tape on the pulleys and found it to be almost 4" longer than the 'original' (this with the tensioner fully retracted). Question I have is: do you measure the...

What new tools have you got lately?

Built one of these setups - some have probably seen it online. FWIW...any vids you see on this setup, pay no attention to their measurements as your shop vac is probably different. Idea is the dust 'cyclone' swirls the debris around, with air being light - it passes on while the particles drop...

What new tools have you got lately?

Local hardware still carries Irwin (USA) taps and thread dies. I buy them 1-2 at a time. They hold up quite well. Like most of everything they sell, the HF junk I dont even consider.

Did the Painless setup involve relays at all? Thats how mine are going in regardless.

    Ignition Resistance Wire-Needed or Nah

You fellas know more about it than me, but I'm a huge fan of relays and surprised they aren't discussed more with trucks that had few to none - especially after we mod them. I worked on cars for years that loved to dump 2-3 25A+ circuits on a single 30A relay and then talk about its...

    Header Gaskets

So I call Summit - they ask me what I'm working on. I tell them I'm looking to buy a decent set of header gaskets for a SBC. Before I can tell them the PN I looked up, guy suggests....Remflex. lol So I ordered the Remflex header and collector gaskets yesterday. They are out for delivery today...
