    Here's a pic of the pullys, the motor tag and the centrifugal switch that was broken that they updated. The unloader and check valves are both new - whether they are working properly...dunno.

    So there wasn't much prep except to clean it out? I cant get my hands down inside there to sand or pry out the old seam sealer. Didnt know Permatex made an undercoating. I have some 3M but it would be a mess to work with there. It sealed ok?

    They keep going for those numbers and I will seriously talk to someone I know who does this....about re-popping them. These aftermarket bean counter companies are lunatics for dropping them. They wont sell as many but can sell them for 3-5x as much.

    Seen alot of how-to's here with the idea of cleaning and sealing the inside leak-prone areas of the cowl. A pig in a poke with whatever sealer you use. So I'm about at that point and was wondering.....when someone says "open up the cowl" - exactly what are they referring to? Cutting the grill...

    When I rebuilt mine, about 1 in 4 with videos were doing it wrong. I got the shop manual and from that, could tell which ones were doing it right. Same way with my transfer case. Both came out perfect. I'd find the OE shop manual and see what it says.

    When I replaced my springs with a new stock height kit, it still lifted it about 2" (my guess from the originals being tired). I'm running the same tire size.

    I remember back in the day, JC Whitney had aftermarket tanks that went as big as dual 40s. No idea how they fit them in where the original 20s were.

    I think I have #18 - can measure what it is. IIRC its a standard size - like 2" or so. I would bet Vintage Air knows - and probably carries something usable. Plan B is checking with the other vendors. On the upside, LMC doesn't stay back ordered long.
