    Panel Gaps/ Body alignment

The white one is an '85 with tight original hinges. My point being, your 3/8" gap isn't unheard of or insanely wide. You could likely get away with slotting the holes in your hinge a bit and be good to go

    Panel Gaps/ Body alignment

Another thing, are the hinges new? Here's some pictures I took of various trucks we have in the shop. The blue one is my '85 with very worn driver's hinge (actually discovered the upper rear of my driver's door is now contacting the back cab panel). The pass door has a much better hinge but...

    Panel Gaps/ Body alignment

Got any pictures? That's also not uncommon, there is ALOT of variation from truck to truck. There's this belief in the sheetmetal world that OE is better no matter what. But speaking from experience (I help with R&D at AMD), factory doors can get hung on 5 different cabs and fit 4 different...

    Panel Gaps/ Body alignment

Also, don't be surprised if you have different amounts of shims in the same location on the fenders or the doors.

    Panel Gaps/ Body alignment

This. Leave everything loose. Get the doors lined up to the back cab panel and top of the door frame first. Then hang the fenders and hood (again, everything loose) and work them in. At that point, you may need to move the doors in or out, but shouldn't have to adjust them any other direction...

What new tools have you got lately?

I told my buddy never again. Next time he needs BJ's, he better buy the whole ass arm or don't call me. If a whole loaded arm is available, that's what I buy for my stuff. Screw pressing a BJ out anymore if I don't have to

What new tools have you got lately?

I tried one of those spreader tools and.....broke it :hidesbehindsofa: This was the worst, most stuck balljoint I've ever run across

    1978-80 dash trim on a 1977 dash?

All dash pads will physically swap between the trucks. I can't 100% confirm but I would say I'm 99% sure the dash trims will interchange as well (73-80).

    Door gap

That's interesting, would not have thought they'd put the line there for that scheme. I guess I just figured it would only be on the exterior of the rocker

What new tools have you got lately?

Had to get a new whammer cuz I broke my old one wailing on a buddy’s LCA’s trying to get his BJ’s to let go

    Door gap

The tops of the rockers are the light blue main color of my truck, that is also how the whole hinge pillar is painted The fender has the dark blue wrapped around and just kinda haphazardly sprayed like the backside of the door. But it's just like the outside of the truck, light blue top and...

Exact measurement for placement of GMC Tailgate Badge

Good deal. Didn’t know if you knew or not, it always surprises me how many people haven’t looked at the back of these and don’t know the holes are there

Exact measurement for placement of GMC Tailgate Badge

Just FYI, if you're putting a stock emblem on, there should be holes on the back side of that panel for drilling the location of the pins.

4 link suspension and saddle tanks?

I've not seen anyone specifically running a "fuel cell" in the stock location, I'm not even aware of a fuel cell shaped like that. But I have seen plenty of people run the stock tanks with that setup.

    Test Drive Etiquette

I mostly agree with everything above. However, unless it's a complete and total project that obviously isn't road worthy, I won't buy a car without driving it. If it's got a drivetrain I think could be driven for a good while as is, I want to drive it. I would happily give a deposit to do so...

    A/C design

Like, making your own firewall evaporator box and underdash box/doors/all that? Why? Or you're talking about adapting aftermarket compressor/condenser/custom lines to the factory firewall stuff?

    Headers for LS

I'm 2wd so I can't say for sure but most guys seem to have good luck with the Speed Engineering headers, depending on what trans you're running.

    Cruise set up for LS

Yeah but he said drive by cable. You wouldn't happen to have a wiring diagram of how to hook that up do ya? I've got DBW in my '85 but haven't messed with getting cruise working yet. I've also got the E40 bastard child computer too which seems to complicate everything lol

Looking for wire harness for 1985 C10 whole harness

There's lot of options out there, Painless, American Autowire (this would be my choice), Summit has their own brand I think, etc.

    Power Tour

My cooling system is well proven in this truck but I definitely need to do AC and some better heat shielding before I do Power Tour. And carpet. Having a bare metal tunnel in this 92*+ heat is already miserable
