What new tools have you got lately?
just ordered a coil spring compressor to use on the trans am once I buy new coils. -

a lil info we had on straight 6 with 3 on the tree, ours got converted to floor shift with an indy universal kit first thing worked great. Held up for years thru like 3 straight 6's. I know energy suspension has some big longer poly ones for uyp front might have some for the rear as well. I never really saw a need for em on a lifted truck. I understand stock or close and hauling you might need some. I guess on a lifted truck if it flexes enough it might hit?- Swims350

Adapt 4x4 Th350 in Place of 700r4
leave it alone that's the lockup when you put in the th350 you can leave it hanging. Maybe tape the end to keep out dirt, then if you ever do a lockup th350 or another 700r4 you can reuse it.- Swims350

switching from th350 long tail to th350 short, help please...
if you can find a junkyard or another truck same length with a 3 speed on the column it's the right length and spline for a th350 short shaft. . I know you can that's what I said I'm confident in you being able to do it. As for the entire rear legs they seem good to me, the sides around the hole are what concern me both are rusted and I bet thin since the rot hole in bottom. that was my thoughts but being in the rust belt and all the salt and age most I find may end up being the same.
