    Found my missing ATF, whole two liters of it - In transfer case. It gushed out through the filler plug like it was a drain plug. I will keep an eye on oil levels to see at what rate ATF moves from transmission to the transfer case.

    Side markers, you mean the front ones? Front ones use a trick of being grounded via turn signals, so that they go off when the indicator lamp turns on. By any chance you have any LED bulbs that may mess up resistances? Rear should be just connected to park lamps.

    I wonder with what is this motor paired with? Auto or manual? What rear end and wheel size? Maybe the motor is fine but it's the matter of low stall converter and tall gearing not allowing the motor to put the torque down when taking off?

    Great to hear that! After watching tons of vids from Precision Transmission on how the 700R4/4L60/4L60E works I know that a gasket on the input shaft may be a cause of TCC not engaging. When it flattens it does not allow pressure to build up and the TC clutch may burn up.

    It will smell bad, give headaches to some but will untap a bit of power. I'd put a universal metal core cat instead. I used a Magnaflow cat converter in all my cars, worked well in 240 HP oil burning Honda, cutting all the smell and most of the smoke with no noticeable effect on power.

    I took it on a highway with less traffic and played with a shifter/cruise/throttle while driving and now I'm convinced that it is gear hunting, not a converter locking and unlocking. Rev change when I manually shift between D and OD is matching what I'm hearing. Keeping it in D makes it go away...

    Tip: You can get the rattle out of the door barn by adjusting the striker with a crowbar. Bending it slightly up makes the door close without any play. Just make sure that your striker is not pre-cracked. One of mine broke and I can see that the crack was half way through before I even started...
