    03 Trailblazer Build.

Ohhh yeah. I remember those tanks now. Iirc, the fuel pump opening has a steel ring made into it and they end up cracking and splitting there. Probably just an issue in the rust belt though.

What have you done to your square lately??

Looks like a clamp had been there, and over tightened too. A worm gear clamp that is over tightened will often make those little rubber "flaps" as the surface of the hose gets sheared and forced through the slots in the clamp.

    Crossfire cap

I had to quote myself because I remembered this picture I took. This was a running engine: I only found it because the camshaft sprocket shed it's nylon teeth.

    Crossfire cap

As do I. But you can have some pretty hot garbage run fine on the standard type HEI distributors. Stuff that you could never get away with on a vortec engine.

C20 - Trailering vs. Camper Special

So Z81 is the basic camper special option, but what is the RPO for the deluxe camper special option, that included Z81?

    Crossfire cap

I've never used one, but I'd assume they are a bit more finicky about moisture intrusion, corrosion, carbon tracking and wear. Much like the '96-up vortec distributor caps.

    350 or LS

An actual thrown rod? Or just a bearing? If it's a 100% complete engine with accessories and all, it ain't a bad price. Depending on how much fuel you go through getting it. Maybe not worthwhile as a builder, but worth it for the heads and accessories.

C20 - Trailering vs. Camper Special

All those were part of the most elaborate camper special package. Do you have pictures of the cab-bed shock absorber setup?

What have you done to your square lately??

I wouldn't add a stop-leak. There's really no magic fix for a radiator with plastic tanks. Imho, just buy one from a local parts store with a lifetime warranty... then remember where you bought it ten years from now, lol.

C20 - Trailering vs. Camper Special

There were different levels of Trailering Special packages as well as Camper Special packages. Trailering Special would include stuff like brakes, springs, steeper ratios, HD cooling, etc. Camper special would include similar items, plus things like camper wiring, dual batteries, rear sway...

Don't worry about finding a 010 block. Back in the day, it was a "better" block due to the high nickel content. But it's probably also the most common block you will find. These days, a newer block with roller cam provisions is a far better choice for most people's needs. Most truck blocks from...

    Dual Tanks Fuel switch delete

So you are saying that with the supply lines tee'd together, the tanks balanced due to a siphon effect through the supply line? Makes sense. I'm sure there's going to be a scenario where that setup could possibly cause an issue though, if someone did it that way permanently.

    Whatcha do with that...?

Damn. All y'all trash the alternators? I keep all those suckers. Not only can they be rebuilt (by yourself, or by a local shop) but they are also great for swapping parts around to get what you need. Pulleys, fans, bearings, case halves, etc. Especially the cs130 alternators. With the right...

Who is or has run a 307?

Yeah, out of city limits is where it's at. We sold the house and moved out to a rental place (rent was way cheaper than a mortgage for a comparable place). We were there for about 10 years, really no complaints at all from the landlord. Then her sister got involved and it was time to move on. So...
