If you're talking about the little knobs that go on top of the lock rod and stick through the door panel, they're just plastic. Twist them on with some pressure and they'll cut their own threads

There is a left hand thread and a right hand thread. Make sure they match the DS/PS door.

Yeah, otherwise they may come loose. Unless the truck is driven in reverse a lot.
