Is there a thread here that discusses which is the best “club” to get? There are a bunch of different models.
On the older trucks, the steering wheel core is relatively thin for impact reasons and clubs can be removed by just simply cutting the steering wheel core with a set of bolt cutters then slipping off the club. We just used to put in a hidden power cutoff switch or a toggle switch in the neutral safety switch (for autos) purple wire.

Instant on alarm no stickers no dash light no warnings of any kind. Leave the door unlocked ,so no vehicle damage and kill the fuel. They probably will run off as soon as they open the door and the horn goes off,so no damage done. It could even alert you via text. Fuel cut off so even if they start it they aren't going far. They'll be in the middle of the road with a dead vehicle, flashing lights and horn. They are going to abandon their effort.

When I had to drive my British convertible to work in a less-than-steller area of the city I lived in at the time, I would disconnect the fuel pump power (was easy to access inside the car) but never locked the doors. The cost of the damage they would do cutting thru the convertible top would far exceed that couple bucks worth of change in the ashtray or the mid-grade radio. I lost my toll change frequently (pre-EZTag type systems - had to physically drop coins in a basket) but then the miscreants decided to steal the whole ashtray - which at the time was not available as a replacement piece. That got me a bit heated....

I still say kill the fuel supply, let them get 75 feet into the road or middle of the parking lot before it dies and won't restart that's when it draws the most attention, people wanting to help, people honking until you move, calling 911 to report a stranded vehicle, etc. They make fuel cut off solenoids, you coukd even wire an electric pusher pump as a cut off,if you pick the correct pump.
^This.
While it was easy and convenient to do on the blue truck as it has to run an electric fuel pump even though it’s carbed, I don’t cherish the thought of it getting stolen.
I would like to see the reaction though if stolen and it makes it about 100 yards out of a parking lot onto a public road and just dies. Crank, no go juice.
I’ve tested it. It will idle almost a minute. In gear warm engine, on the gas, it goes about 1/4 mile before the carb runs dry.
