Interesting, I always thought the true synchronized versions were available for like 2~4 years and only in the early figure 8 style that ended in ‘84.

@WRW86 your 205 has this oiling vein on the rear cover?

Yes, mine has the oiling vein. As I understand, the synchro models were for auto-locking hubs, but I don't know if they ever put those hubs on a 1-ton?

I was under the assumption that the SM465/NP205 was from an 85 K3500, but maybe I'm mistaken. I have lost touch with the guys who put it in. At any rate this is what I have.
If it was from a pre 85 truck, that wouldn't explain the round bolt pattern and 32 spline output.

Yes, the auto hubs were available on a 1-ton. @nvrenuf and I were not sure if the auto hubs (and synchro case) were ever available after '84 though.
