I purchased this frame and beleived it to be circa 1982 GMC sierra... but can not verify anything!
Block is 350.Cast# 3970010. stamped numbers on block in front of passenger head are "161404867 K09 03 CMJ"
can not find any frame markings. 15" rims. wheel base 132". pics attached?

'81+ frame. Engine is pre-'87. The rear axle is a 12 bolt, which should mean pre-'83.

The vin should be on the top of the passenger side frame rail, just a few inches from the front cab mount towards the engine.

Thanks Strick and Bucket.. it looks like you have it narrowed down 81-83. We still have a few salvage yards around.. but info isn't realiable.
This is a solid frame and I want to bebuild it for 1948 GMC body...so need to order as accurate as I can. I tried to use 350 info.. but CMJ code showed up as 1974?
Thanks again..."nobody puts PapaD in the box!"

thanks...but I scrapped and cleaned with no luck. Maybe after sandblasting something might pop out!

Could be on top of the drivers side frame rail in between the gas tank and kick up on the rail.

I've got a 48 gmc project as well!

The S10 frames are used in many 47-55 1st series trucks, almost a bolt on there is a f-book group dedicated to this: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1316351842443154. I may go this route for my 54. Nothing wrong with what you are doing though.
