And don't even get me started on the "Carolina Squat" phenomenon.

That's a very sharp truck. Drive it with pride.
To an outsider (Australia) the carolina squat looks ridiculous and screams "I am desperate to get noticed " and will do anything to make that happen.
Take a short wheelbase square remove the bed and fit another cab facing to the rear would be a trend and only a little bit more "Stupid" than the Coralina squat.

I dig the stock height on the 77. The pipes make it look a bit lower imo.
That said, the only reason it don’t have a 3/4 or 3/5ish drop is lack of spare time.

Because it’s bone stock with all the heavy rear springs still.

My 76 is stock, besides having 200k+ miles on the springs, and the air compressor adds some weight over the rear and levels it some I’m sure.

It sits on 31x10.5x15s, in my opinion it sits right for that tire size. I think that (I’ve never measured it, spitballing here) the top of the tire about ±2” from the wheel opening is about right visually. For example, a F44 (big ten/heavy half) with not sagged out springs, a short tire (say 24”-26”) just would not look right as the gap would be huge, added that the front and rear wheel openings on these trucks are positioned different which adds to the visual issues.

I think @Grit dog is onto something with sidepipes changing the perceived height too. And other things like running boards.

Now, years ago, I photoshopped it about dragging the rockers (on 235/75/15s at the time), I gotta say, I dig it. I’d probably never go that low as that would require a lot of modifications to do that and likely would fall off of the practicality scale.

As I said earlier in this thread, I generally like these trucks in all configurations and takes quite a bit to “ruin” one for me. Certainly some that have things I would not personally do, but appreciate it.

I put a lot of value on the craftsmanship/workmanship of a vehicle (or anything really), there are lots of frame draggers, stock, and high riders that have exceptional quality work done to them, as there are examples of all of those that are hack jobs and poorly put together. Tasteful and tasteless comes in all configurations.

Just my 2¢ I’m giving out for free.

I think my 86 GMC is the only truck in Texas that doesn't have an LS swap or is lowered!

Nahh - I have a 1989 3/4 ton Suburban on all-original suspension with the factory 454....its under a car cover right now (and getting dark out) so no up-to-date pic; its the one in my profile thumbnail though.

@legopnuematic yeah I also like the work truck look of 31s on a half ton. Looks tough.
But I liked my C10 with the stock hubcaps and pizza cutters too.

Like you it’s tough to not like most styles. All have their significance.
Some folks are just too much of stuffed shirts.

It has a couple dings here and there; but this is also the side that had the left front door crunched in when someone backed into it in a parking area. My local independant body shop did a great job on it.

You can see the doors and front fender are a little shinier than the rest - it lived under a cover when not in use but still gets dusty from the dirt driveway blowing around....

just saw this thread but my first impression which is never wrong: That truck is perfect, don't change a thing!

My C10 is low low low. How low? A member of the band War, once complimented my low-rider truck. But if you took Black Beauty to California, people would swarm you, "DUDE!?!? How did you RAISE that truck! Looks rad, bro!" Yes, lowered trucks have become a cliche, at least here. And yours just looks so damn good. Drive that thing around blasting AC/DC and Olivia Newton-John and don't stress!

Bring that thing to Los Angeles, I will write a pitch today for a NetFlix series about an Aussie bad-a$$ who solves problems and fights crime in his killer C10 that IS AT STOCK HEIGHT and STOCK HEIGHT is a plot point in the first six episodes!

I had to drive to Paola to get some groceries,50 miles round trip to get groceries.On the way back I decided to snap pics of as many squares as I could. Now this is not to bag on anyone,it just struck me as funny. O.P your truck would be a show truck, @Grit dog your 86 would be a show vehicle @TotalyHucked and @Misceo Your trucks these guys would just scratch their heads and say what am I supposed to do with this.

That made me laugh ... AC/DC is blasting away constantly in my square with ZZ top close behind.

Interesting because my truck has been used on forestry tracks and country roads that are barely there ,through river beds and covered in mud and ****.Hauled wood ,fencing and most of all100s of bikes pissing out fluids all over my spray in liner. Then when I get home I do some really weird **** (Maybe it's an Aussie thing?) I wash and detail it ;)
My truck doesn't need to look like **** to be getting used but plenty think its a toy.. There are guys in my chevy club who's paint job cost more than my entire truck.
Having said all that the equivalent ford F100's were built here in Australia and there are plenty still working for a living and look like your photos I have had plenty of comments from them saying mines to pretty to be called a shop truck.
