I had thought about a Camaro Series II 3800, with the top end from a 3800 with a supercharger. At the time I didn’t have access to the fab setup I do now, so without milling the throttle body would have been in the cowl.

I have a friend that has done one in a Camaro. He's still sorting it out.

The Holden Monaro came with an L67, but importing the SC setup might be a pain.

Wife had an L67 in her 97 Regal GS. Buddy had one in a Gran Prix. They were great engines and my wife’s got 25-27mpg with me running it pretty hard sometimes.

Hmm, you don't want to know about one of the cars I'm currently pursuing then, lol. A Celebrity with a 5 speed.
My girlfriend back in high school had a Chevette 4-speed. It died & her dad swapped it with a Citation 4-speed. I've never seen another...

That was a hot rod back in the 90s. A 4.3 with 2nd- lots of kids I knew got in trouble with those

Yep, I raised hell with my 4.3 and 5-speed. Lots of no lift shifts, those rear tires were always making noise.

Even with a a 700r4 this truck ALWAYS wants to twist them!! Wet pavement after a rain itll spin em at a stop light without even tryin. Part of why i want a locker and a 5spd swap!

Yup! Buddy in high school, parents gave him their almost new 4.3 5speed reg cab S10. A rarity, as no one in my school got a “new” car for a high school ride. But man that thing was fun. Had a posi too so it was 2 wheeler peeler and speed shifts all day!
That’s how sad the 70s-80s were in automotive history. When a 160hp S10 and my 190hp Monte SS seemed “fast.”
Fast forward 30 years and my kids are driving stock vehicles from the mid 2000s and mid 2010s and they’re 300 and 395hp respectively….

Facespook market place is a complete joke compared to craigslist.
I agree, mostly because FB is harder to search, doesn’t split dealer and private party and has even more clowns.
That said most older used cars “by owner” around here are Russian or Eastern European car flippers disguising as private party sellers.
At least those guys are responsive. But generally they’re hiding something. Easy to tell usually though, as they have 20+ well staged photos like a dealer would have on a freshly detailed car with the paper floor mat covers and the pics are in front of someone’s million $ home but in the street.
Now the rest? 1 in 10 that I call or email on, maybe, isn’t a flake or tweaker.
Been looking for a first car for my niece back east. But buying out here because everything back there is rusted junk unless it’s <10 years old.
1 person would only text back “available”. 1 word. That’s it. No matter what questions I asked. Even when I started poking fun at him/her and being derogatory, same bot type response. Probably a scam. And I wasn’t asking the right sucker questions.
Another had an “estate sale” old grampa Dakota. Emailed. No reply. Reply couple days later. “Sold”. Clicked the add link and it was still valid but for another “estate sale” car. Got 1 “available” reply and no infor. Couldn’t get an answer to a question.
It’s equally as fcked up imo. I get 1-2 inquiries a week about an old truck been trying to sell. 1 in 10 are legit looks loos. The rest are complete tards or scammers.
Sad really when you get old enough to realize the “average” intelligence level or integrity level is actually very LOW.
Fck, same neice, her deadbeat dad that she’s disowned started a gofundme for Xmas because how tough the year has been. He hasn’t held a real job in the 20 years I’ve known him….

This is a funny CL flipper story. Earlier this year I was down in Vancouver for business and had been looking for a truck for my son moving to MT. The K20 ain’t getting that duty and the Camaro would be impossible where he’s living.
Find one I am certain is not a flipper. Except for the he want to meet at a parking lot. Which is 50/50 imo.
So I’m almost there to meet him at the time we agreed and he calls, traffic getting thru Portland after work etc will be half hour late.
No problem I’m hanging out at the location waiting. I see someone selling a car to a couple. They test drive, make the deal, as they leave, someone swings by and picks up the seller dude.
Same mfer shows up 10 min later with the truck I was looking at!
I let him tell me the story about how he’s selling it for his grampa who can’t drive as of recent. (Guys roughly my age =50, his grampa ain’t alive lol) and how the lift kit was installed by grampa but he doesn’t know when (it was old).
At least it was fun telling him to fck off!!
