Hmm, you don't want to know about one of the cars I'm currently pursuing then, lol. A Celebrity with a 5 speed.

I'm not a fan of the 2.8. That iron duke 2.5 makes it that much more appealing to me. Just wish it was a stick shift car.

The S10 version of the 2.8 is a completely different animal compared to the multi port injected 2.8's used in the Celebrity. The V6 Celebrities are a hoot, especially if they are a Eurosport with the steeper final drive ratio. Definitely not a slug. Unless comparing it to a new car, where even the basic crap boxes have 200 horsepower.

Cool! Fair enough. I’ll admit I have not been in a car with the peppy version of the 2.8 :) I believe you as you’d definitely know more than me in that arena :)

My sister from another mister has an '83 S10 Blazer 4x4 with a 3.4 from a Camaro. That thing is a little ripper.

I had thought about a Camaro Series II 3800, with the top end from a 3800 with a supercharger. At the time I didn’t have access to the fab setup I do now, so without milling the throttle body would have been in the cowl.
