It's been 4-5 years since I installed the pump, but in the last picture, I had to transfer that rusty looking nut from my old pump to this new one. I think the other had some type of stud on it. When I had the original A/C brackets on (below) it the pump would not have gone on had I not swap it out.

Thanks for the compliment. I’m lucky the truck was parked for 10-11 years before I bought it. It also helped that at the time all those photos were taken I was living in California and had to smog it every 2 years. Everything on there was required to pass.

I think I have the brackets for the longer ac compressor on 78 big block, but my problem is figuring out where they go.

If you have the same brackets as mine in the above post, here's how the rest go.

So, did I understand that that bracket set did work for the HR6 compressor?

The brackets I purchased are designed for a Sanden (508 in my case) compressor. Although the HR6 is similar in size I don’t think the it would work with my brackets.

Yes sir, I was hoping that the other poster would also respond. Seems he had an A6 and was replacing with HR6 like me.
