What are the best tires for wear? 15inch rims. 1978. GMC K15. thanks ya'll

This is very subjective, but I have been pleased with BFG K02 for light off roading, highway, and snow.

K03 are coming, and should be available next time I need tires in 3 years or so.

I was a tech at a shop that sold tires. Hankook and BFG were the best tire for the money, casings were round and didn't need as much weight as some other brands. Have a set of each on 2 SB. Both are quiet and work decent in all but extreme conditions.

Will say this however, neither stop very well on ice. Actually, wish one set was Blizzaks, but those wear rather fast and not suitable for summer highway use.

Used to be a studded tire fan until I tried a set of Blizzaks for the daily driver. Whatever the tread is made out of works. Michelin has another ice tire but haven't tried those. Only use that car about 5 k a year so I leave them on year round. Have been getting 25 k miles out of a set. They are becoming expensive. Like everything, I guess.

I run the BFG KO2 on my 4WD trucks and Jeeps. They wear great and have good all-around traction. I got 90,000 miles out of a set on my old '97 Grand Cherokee.

I’ve got 31x10.5x15 BFG K02s on the 76, I’d say about 40k on them or so, no real road noise or wear issues.

They have gotten me to and from where I have needed to go in the snow and the ice when I was hardcore daily driving it.

I’ve got Hankook Dynapro at2’s on the Cummins, thus far I like them, 35x12.5x17 on hummer wheels. Minimal road noise and seemed to balance out fine.

I can attest to this as i have bfg mud terrains on the back and hankook dynapro mts on the front of my 2wd s10. Both wear phenomenol except make sure you balance the hankooks well from the start or it will eat them quick. Ive had the bfgs on for 3 years now and theyre just hitting the wear bars! (Daily driver)

That is the perfect answer!
OP with 15s you won’t find any good typical highway tread load range E tires. Those are in general about the longest wearing as higher load range = typically a harder compound and ht tread always lasts longer than AT or MT because more rubber and less void space.
And generally quality = longer treadlife.
@Huckleberry your question is very vague unless tire life is truly your only concern.

I absolutely love my Uniroyal Larado. I had them on my 84 for 13 years. The truck sat up for quite a few years. The tires barely rotted and never went flat. I replaced them with the same set out of paranoia. I was worried they might blow out since a couple had a little rot. They ride, grip, and stop fantastically. On my other truck I use General Grabber. The company I used to work for had them on every vehicle. They are great too. I’ll probably run the Uniroyal Laredo’s as long as they will fit the auto I’m driving.
