It is of that series. I think it’s a 4100, but would have to look. The manual says it for the “3000, 4000, 4100 & 7100 series”

Word has already gotten out though, as I’ve had several asking if I’ll turn drums and rotors, as no one does that, that we know of, in about a 50 mile radius from where I live. Lots of old car owners coming out the wood works.
I guess if you're not near a big city like Jackson or Mobile/Gulfport....we get spoiled here in the greater Houston area because there is so much available. Sometimes you might have to drive across town though and that can be interesting.

Kept my old Ammco brake lathe from the shop when I closed and sold the building. Have done a lot of discs and drums for guys here in town and of course my own stuff. Probably don't charge enough, but I can pay my light bill each month, so there's that. The only other "turners" in town is the Les Schwab tire store and one other mechanic shop. They both charge a bunch........my little niche

Found this in the junkyard back in 2020.
It was old, so naturally I had to look it over.

On its glass it had these awesome stickers and the car also showed signs of having go fast parts during some of its life...

The car did give up its Hurst Pro-matic shifter to me though.
It will get used somewhere down the line I am sure, either by my hand or a kid I know...

I found this cool trophy in the thrift store.
No idea when it is from or what the racing class was.
But I know its not new and it is pretty cool.

I also like VW's and have one waiting in the wings for me to get to it.
Hurst made aftermarket shifters for them and I have found one of the straight ones as well as one of the bent ones.
These shifters were copied by EMPI almost exactly, so I have a couple of parts shifters that will be canabalized to make the Hursts tip top.
One will be installed into my Squareback when the time comes.

Bent shifter found in the swap meet years ago for $15.

This is the straight shifter that was pulled from another swap meet for $25.

I have one of those, too. It has the smooth black knob. It’s sitting g for now. I’ll probably use one of my Berg shifters for the chopped bug.

Yup.
A General Motors furnace.
Back when I was a service feller, I ran into a few of them.
When we replaced one I made sure to keep the door from it for the badge.
I have another badge in the garage that is in better condition as it has not sat outside for 20 years.

Chrysler also used to make furnaces and I have one of those badges as well, somewhere...
