+1 on the Bilstein's yes a little more but 'buy once cry once', also I got mine at ShockWarehouse during one of their sales. This is an 82 C20 that kids and I are working on as for brakes, we updated with new components but kept the system the same. Figured technology has changed in the 42 years since this truck was released. Took these at muffler shop when I had them install new exhaust nothing fancy as this is a straight six.

So true :cheers: To late on a pic of the drums, I already used a sander on them, clean them up and reinstalled.
They were good cause the guy at the brake shop said both drums had plenty of meat on them!
In Sweden turning drums is not recommended.
An entire country does not turn drums, and simply sands them when the thickness is good.

They build excellent fighter jets and are known for high quality engineering.
Most of the wind mills on land work more 50% of the time?
What do they know?

depends on what kind of ride you want.
if your looking for a shock to help handling, go with a nitrogen shock, if your looking for a smooth ride, go a hydraulic shock.
just yesterday we put 4 new Skyjacker hydro's on my sons truck, very good ride and reasonable cost. i run Skyjacker nitrogens on my crew and my son also uses nitrogen kyb's on his firebird, handles like it's on rails and corners extremely flat
I would agree. Depends on what you’re gonna do with this vehicle if it is going to be a street driven vehicle but also taken off road Bill‘s 5100 or 5125 series cannot be beat for the price point if it’s gonna be driven 99% of the time on the street, go with the Skyjacker or any other hydraulic shock

I have the rancho white with the red boots. Been running them for five years now seem to handle good. I load my truck heavy and I tow a bunch. They’ve been good for me.

I found the kyb gas a whatever on rockauto for a good price as well. Listed in the better category. Thinking will go that way.

My current 3/4 ton long bed is my first ever square body. I've had it for about 20 years now and when I bought it I put new shocks on it a couple weeks after getting it home. The shocks that were on it were complete toast. I could turn it up and down and the shock would slide in and out without me touching the end. I remember thinking now wander it rides so rough, it's going to be like a luxury car with new shocks. I put new shocks on it and couldn't tell a bit of difference...

I stick with Ranchos.

Toured the factory a bunch of years ago and liked what I saw.
