Death wobble, or bad wheel balance?

@Grit dog I haven’t finished putting it on yet. Maybe I’m tired and not thinking straight.
The box info card stated the box is already centered (about 1.6, or 1.7 turns each side). So, I line up the flat spot on spline shaft to flat spot on steering shaft, but in order to do that, I have to rotate wheel almost 180 deg. Doesn’t the steering wheel only install one way? What am I forgetting?

Replaced steering box, shocks, stabilizer and 4” springs. Gonna take it for a spin. Hope death wobble is gone.

@Dano500 did your wobble get any better? You mentioned all those parts replaced but never mentioned replacing your bad ball joint. If you haven't I'm surprised, a loose or bad ball joint isn't a minor thing and can cause basically everything you've described as a problem here. I'd have done that before replacing any of those other parts.

It rides much better now- no wobble at all. Ultimately, I think it was bad balancing of the new tires. I went back to D T and asked them to rebalance them because of what was happening and now it drives and rides great. Well, except a little steering slop. I’m going to do the jeep steering shaft mod next.

A K20 that won't pull a 5th wheel? How big a 5th wheel you got? It should pull it easily

It’s 19k lbs loaded and 15.7k empty. I bought this 84’ k20 C6P in hopes of rebuilding it and putting in a Cadillac 500 with a 4l80 to pull it.
