Take it apart and look at it. Since it's already broken and will be taking it out anyway. No sense in guessing what you have. My 2 cents.

I did exactly the same thing to mine when installing a new window handle (incorrectly). It looks exactly like mine (which is a two-piece), but you don't need to know that to replace the glass. The glass is just a friction-fit into the L-shaped frame. You will want a new rubber gasket and to just pluck out all the tiny broken tempered glass pieces out of the frame. Then wrap the gasket around the edge of the new glass before pushing it into the L-shaped frame (trimming the excess).
You can do all this without removing any components of your door. Just buy the correct lefthand (drivers side) piece of glass (because they're curved and not interchangeable), and install the window handle on your workbench before installing the glass into the L-frame. Watch a few YouTube videos first before installing the handle, because there's a correct way, and multiple wrong ways to do it. You'll need the tools shown in the image below. Don't fret. It's a fun little task if you do it slowly, and not right before you have to go anywhere important.

Did you find out what it was? I'm having the same issue - want to replace the seals but will probably have to remove the entire thing.

Maybe verify what @Leadfootc20 said. I think the glass is different between 1pc and 2pc. But I’m not totally clear on the 80s 1 vs 2 compared to older 70s doors. There was some confusion on my 86. Got 1pc seals and supplier claimed they were right when the truck has original 2 pc. Then there’s the different glass styles.
Hopefully someone can clarify definitively.
