Bench Seat Too Far Forward?

Gents,
I tore my interior down to the metal and took about a year to get it all back together. When the seat was out, I cleaned up all the tracks and bearings so that I would adjust easily. After installing my bench seat (84' Silverado) I found that its so close to the steering wheel that I can barely fit in. I'm hopeing that I just missed something and there is an easy fix for this. With the seat all the way back, there is 3"1/4" inchs between the seat and the back of the cab. Is this normal?

Yeah that's too far forward. Mine touched the back wall when it was all the way back. Might double check that something's not bound up or bent or you don't have some kind of obstruction

Yes, like Zach says, that’s not right. Be sure you bolted the tracks in the right spot on the seat. I’ve done 3 interiors, 2 ‘84s & 1 ‘85 and didn’t have that issue. Be sure your release has full motion. The seat back should touch the rear with full range of motion.

X3. Seat back will touch or almost touch the back of the cab.
Could be an illusion but the seat bottom looks awful close to the steering wheel and/or the seat bottom is tilted up in front.

I took some time and enjoyed a couple of wobble pops and found the issue. The new seat belts I installed are Retro-Belt units and I insalled them as per the directions. As you can see in the pic, the 90 degree bracket stands up quite a bit. This is what was hitting the seat frame--keeping it from going all the way back. I removed the 90 degree bracket, bolted the seat belt to the floor pan with out it and bam! Problem fixed. See pics.
So all you fellas and fellets that are using Retro Belts brand seat belts with a stock bench seat, bolt the seat belts down, flat on the floor pan, and don't use the angle brackets.

Nice! Happy to see you solved the issue. BTW those 90 degree brackets are for the retractors, not the Belts.

It was cheaper and quicker to install a shallow dish steering wheel and build custom mounts to move my seat back.
