Any Tricks for stuck oil filter ?

99 out of 100 times.. I’ve been smarter than the Oil Filter, This one won’t budge. It was installed “Hand Tight” as always and with a smear of oil - but the circular clamp type wrench only crushed it. I don’t have another type oil filter wrench. Any known tricks that will work? SB 350 The Truck in on the ground (No lift) K1500 so I have plenty of access room. Thanks!

Thanks, I’ve used that method before. Fortunately the filter is already drained.

I've had to beat the snot out of a filter while cursing the previous installer. Try smacking on the filters' base avoiding the engine block.

I have a rubber strap wrench that I typically try first if my hand doesn’t work. Otherwise, I have a wrench from harbor freight that has some pretty aggressive teeth. I’ve had to use the HF one on a few different Cummins. Even with the passenger side inner wheel well removed, they can be difficult.

Looks like you might git it figured or off by now but I'll throw out some ideas.
In the past ive had to use:
of course a screwdriver lol.
Serpentine belt with vice grips.
Chain wrench.
Big channelocks work good too.
Pipe wrench.
Chizzel on an old crusty one.

Success! BFS it’s like a BFH but a screwdriver. It wasn’t pretty, but it’s off.. Hand tight only
