Just joined the site to use for references and troubleshooting as we build a truck for my daughter. I bought this truck from my cousin a couple months ago. It has been sitting in his yard for 20 years. Transmission came out of it and he just parked it. It needs a lot of work but the price was right and it has sentimental value to me. He is like my older brother to me and I remember riding around with him in it. His dad had a very similar truck that was solid yellow. He sold his and I wanted him to know if he ever wanted this one gone that I was interested.

Truck is a 78 Cheyenne. My daughter is turning 13 this June and our plan is to have this truck ready when she turns 16. Got a budget in mind and hopefully will meet it.

Welcome from Houston, Texas. I grew up with our family square body trucks (3 GMC pickups and 5 Burbs, GMC and Chevy). Dad taught me a lot about cars, working on these and our other family vehicles. He's been gone 5 1/2 years, but I think he watches me working on our trucks.

Thank you all. I’ll get a build thread put up before long. So far she seems to be excited about it. She has helped clean it out and she washed it. Even had her grinning a bit when we got it running.

Overall my goal, depending on where it goes in 25/26, is to get it running and driving and the two of us do power tour in it.
