What's that deal called? I don't have one, maybe never seen one but I think it's a plastic type dealy that probably bolts to the core support on the passenger side that the air inlet tube connects to and sources air from.

Anybody k ow the proper name of that thing in a 1988 Blazer? Better ywt - anybody got one for salr cheaper than I can buy a new one for?
The hole in my core support is round...
I'll measure it tomorrow if you want a pix.

It's got a baffle that prevents water and debris right?

What's it called again?

Where do they go? Wtf. Are these deals hard to find or WHAT?

Thanks!

The stock inlet/cover on a V8 is on the passenger side, but on 6 cylinder it’s on the driver’s side. Some folks set it up for a dual inlet air cleaner and use both inlets.

I've got one or two or three of them. I can afford to let one go.

Sweet. A new one is $$$$ PLUS ship!

Cubo prolly gots half a dozen n a pile or somethin..;)

@75gmck25 o_O.
That would be AWESOME. However the (I think) 1981-1985? Oldsmobile 350 , diesel air cleaner I bought- on a whim -showed up for $40.
Two stud holes in the lid AND EVERYTHING! It's awesome and has a 14x4 in it..no heat riser bullstuff on the bottom side..standard 5&1/4 opening...looks like i'll have to run a 1" carb spacer but I can't find it ATM.

Turns out I accidently had THIS tube layin around from Classic parts when I was workin on the interior AC vents? ANnnnD it's a match made in heaven! I'm lookin now to fill the existing hole in my core support. I bought that to use for the under steering column vent. Thanks again @HotRodPC .

shoot i have wasted thorown away scrapped lots of these over the years decades wiotu evne thinking at all, just figured were worthles piece sof junk plastric?? are these things really that pricey??

can easily dual-snorkel a truck by taking a dual snorkel air cleaner assy from an 1982-up L69 F body they were all Q-jet ones and were dirt common, or at least were at one time.. or even make your own by adding a second snorkel to your existing air cleaner assy.. nice cold "ram" air from front of the truck,, x 2

Gary Camaro gots one of them air cleaners in his showroom with a $250 price tag on it. Not too common in 2020!
Seems like it holds a tiny assed filter too?
I dropped a 14x4 in the diesel cleaner!

Dude!

Sweet!

Yeah, the L69 air cleaner takes a rather short filter. The housing itself isn't too awful hard to find, but they are indeed a little scarce compared to how common they used to be. Finding the ducting for them is the really hard part.

I'll get out in the garage maybe tomorrow and look for the 1" riser I got layin around somewhere.I'm really pretty damned happy the Oldsmobile diesel air cleaner top fits the two TBI studs perfectly. Gotta love GM parts interchangeablity! I've said that before though...in the 77 thread. I knew my gamble would work.
Maddd props for GM parts interchangability !

Where else can you combine a 3/4 ton truck with minivan, sedan, and sports cars to end up with one thing?
Pretty awesome! Bucket is gonna hook me up one of the deals out of the pile he's been hoarding and i'll get to use my unused ducting....bad ass 4 inch filter even....win/win! Helluva deal for $40. I get some stuff out of my garage, use some things that were laying around...(I had bought the 14x4 open air cleaner for the Destiny Blazer and kept it off the wreck since it was so new) Tried it on the 88 but hated the noise so took it off. If you remember the air cleaner stud I bought to convert the 2 to 1?

I just checked LMC, and they don't even have one listed for a diesel - anyone know if it's the same as other years and or models? I need the tube/hose itself, not the inlet on the grill...
