The quickest and cost efficient one I could get my hands on that fit the engine… NAPA P/N 2441603. Not a performance model but it’ll do until can find something better.- wildgoose

Survey says… Starter. Replaced it yesterday. Wiring was burned up pretty good too and had no fuse links installed. Starts like a champ now. Heat blanket around the new one and a 1/0 positive battery cable too. Good to go!- wildgoose

Yeah well… I’ll call him and let him know but he was heading out of town on an urgent family thing. I know for a fact he didn’t cause this issue though. The only other thing I’ve noticed is the headlights are stuck in high beam as the switch will not click to reset them to low beam only.- wildgoose

Picked up the truck today as the shop couldn’t reproduce the starting issue. It started for them every time… probably 20-30 times over the last day or so. Yes I was confused… let me be clear… the starter, the key buzzer, the voltmeter in the panel, the red “Fasten Seat Belts” in the panel, and the turn signal indicators all did not work yesterday, however the dome light and headlights did. I asked them about that… the two are unrelated. No commonality. Both the factory key and the spare key I have, if you insert they activate buzzer. But once you remove your hand, the key slides out about 1/8 of an inch and the buzzer shuts off. I had to push the key further to make it buzz again...- wildgoose

Alright, alright, alright… returned to the crime scene today… Battery had 12.36 volts on the meter. Inserted and heard the key buzzer straightaway. Turned key to start, got nothing. Not even a starter clicking. Dead silence, crickets. Headlights work, headlights do not dim upon turning the key...- wildgoose

I would agree but the battery and alternator are both less than two weeks old… I didn’t have eyes on the voltmeter when I tried cranking it, but once she went silent, I noticed the voltmeter is registering zero. Cold start today… 1st attempt: 2 pumps of throttle and half choke, key buzzer sounded as normal and engine nearly started to fire then quit 2nd attempt: one more pump of throttle and full choke, same result 3rd attempt: key buzzer silent, turn the key and nothing… no starter, nothing… dead I...- wildgoose
