Build updates:
LS is finally in.
Body swap went without a problem.
Minor issues being different connectors for power locks, and some stuff on the steering column. Removed 90% of all the wiring. Only really left the HVAC and lighting alone.
Using most every part possible from the 91 body for...
Hey all! Making this thread to document the build, ask for advice, and answer questions for anyone who need help. So where to start?
This all started a few years ago (3ish) when I bought my 91 Square V1500 suburban. With a poorly done respray and a lot of little problems here and there the...
Hey all, solved my problem. Got a 1985 r1500 suburban roller. Minimal rust. Going to do a bit of a body swap. I transfered over the 4wd transtunnel from the 91 (fit like a glove) and put the 2wd out of the 85 in the 91. The 91 body is going to sit on the 2wd frame and become a bit of a rat rod...
So that all my rot, I have rear arch panels and the bottom panel for the barn doors. Like I said been looking for parts trucks or long beds to see what other options I can come up with.
That's awesome! How was attaching the new tubs to the rear quarter skins? Any major or minor problems along the way to look out for? Still haven't been out to the shop to get pictures for everyone, but I will here in the next few days. Your finished product is amazing!
I'll pull it all out and find out I suppose. Hoping I get lucky and find a nice roller. However I'm very curious to see if a truck bed would to the trick. Since it has to potential to be much cheaper. I've heard tale that the long bed wheel wells can be grafted into the suburbans with some...
Heya all! I've got some advanced rust on the Ole suburban. All the rust is in the rear quarters, and the wheel wells. The wheel wells are 75% just gone at this point. I cut the not savable parts of the rear quarter skins out of the truck and stripped the interior to see just how bad it really...
UPDATE: Removed Blower motor switch from the HVAC controls. Disassembled the switch (whatch out theres 4 springs and a small ball bearing) found the once "grease" dried up and caused there to be no connection between the contacts on the dial and switch body. Cleaned and reinstalled. LO,M1,M2...
No such luck with a sick move like that. I've got some down time at the shop today and plan to switch radios again, so I'll have the bezel off. I'll test the switch end of things, just want to see the PN before I order a new one. I'll update things later today.
If you melted the ECMB fuese, you might check the ecm connectors to make sure all that is okay. along with checking the back of the fuse block. is 12v getting to the pump from truc wiring? Can you hook a test light to the injector connectors and see the light pulse when cranking?
Any other...
Warrantied the relay for another OEM ACDelco GM#19288389 and I'm still in the same situation. Blower motor ONLY runs on LO, Unless I go under the hood and Tap the relay, Specifically with the switch set to HI (M1&M2 do NOT work). I have a resistor on order with NAPA, but that was recently...
