    Most Hated- That's the rumor.

I've also heard straight pipes on Harleys referred to as Baby Wakers!

    My-6 new process 3-speed overdrive

Good info and awesome truck! My 833 is a MM7 steel body with the flat Hurst shifter in my 85 K10. Midwest Transmissions rebuilt mine and I just recently got a shifter from Shifter Doc.com. I plan to rebuild my wore out shifter and save it or sell it.

    My-6 new process 3-speed overdrive

You are very correct, my search for a shifter got me some blank stares.

    My-6 new process 3-speed overdrive

I'll add a little here, parts are available for the transmission, the shifter is the hen's tooth. The Hurst Comp Plus shifter for the Mopar NP833 will not work on the Chevy since it's an overdrive unit. I found a rebuilt unit at Shifter Doc.com and snapped it up as it was the only one I had seen...

    Bare Hands

I'm a mechanic/welder/fabricator at a rubber factory. Protecting my hands is just second nature. So yea, but it depends on how nasty the job is.

This is an awesome site. Glad I found it.

Welcome! I'm old as dirt and struggle with tech stuff, one reason I love these trucks.

Finally got a new mig welder

That's a nice unit. I have a Miller 210 with .025 wire and an argon bottle. Very reliable and constant.
