Good info and awesome truck! My 833 is a MM7 steel body with the flat Hurst shifter in my 85 K10. Midwest Transmissions rebuilt mine and I just recently got a shifter from Shifter Doc.com. I plan to rebuild my wore out shifter and save it or sell it.- donnieray

I'll add a little here, parts are available for the transmission, the shifter is the hen's tooth. The Hurst Comp Plus shifter for the Mopar NP833 will not work on the Chevy since it's an overdrive unit. I found a rebuilt unit at Shifter Doc.com and snapped it up as it was the only one I had seen...- donnieray

Seat Rebuild - To reuse or not reuse padding. And fixed to folding?
I used the old padding in my first seat rebuild and still regret it. It's softer than a grandmas couch. I recently did another with new foam. Firm and well worth the extra cost. The old foam in the first one looked fine btw. -

Thanks for the opinions, it really means a lot, as I haven't been the best member here. I know the truck is a pile of mismatched parts with a weak tranny. I learned that the front differential is a 3/4 ton unit. The rear is a 14 bolt full floater though. I bought it because of the condition of... -
