Looking for 73-74 gmc grill
I've used the 3 piece bracket kit an stock core supports. It doesn't hit all the mounting holes for the grill but it enough that it stays on there. My truck has a 74 gmc grill with the same 3 brackets (just oe ones) on its factory support. -

You just need the right brackets, they sell a kit of them if you really want to do it -

Just because that's what they are for an are much better at it. I used to be solidly in the "why does everyone need a big diesel truck" camp. Gas trucks do it just fine. I started towing heavier stuff an it started to make more sense. My gas truck does it sure but it struggles on hills (I'm on...- bluex

Towing a diesel 2500 Burb on a 17’ flatbed trailer
It'll hit the caliper first. The way they neck down inside it won't clear the brakes without the spacer on the rotor. If you pulled the calipers then it would hit the other stuff too.... -
