Go your local Autozone, et al and see if they have any all thread / threaded rod. Stores used to keep this in stock in various lengths...

You can also get bare 1/4 rod. Then just cut threads on each end.

Man even NOS or stainless steel should be cheaper than that....1/4-20 threaded rod, usually comes in a foot long stick, just cut to measure.
