A Grip Edge hex bit master socket set from the Cornwell dealer. I deal with him at work every Tuesday there on clockwork and he is a great guy with his service. Seen I was messing with a messed up hex fastener having an issue getting it out and said he had the tool for that. Tried it and it came out buying the set. He saved my day from more frustration Shown me this video first and said lets try it

Just got home from Lowe’s. I decided to treat myself a little from some overtime I’ve worked. $180 later I came home with these, a set of folding saw horses, a set of Klein metric ratchet wrenches, and a screwdriver/socket set.

I’ll admit that I’ve become a bit of a Klein fanboy lately, I know they are geared more towards electric work but dang if they don’t have some cool stuff out. The wrenches cost $80, they were on sale a few months ago for $40 but I waited too long to jump. The metric set isn’t even listed on the Lowe’s app anymore so when I saw that they had one set on the shelf I jumped. I’m planning to go back for the standard set in a couple weeks.

I got a Harbor Freight tamper proof screwdriver,it started out as regular screwdriver. I was in a jam needed a Phillips screwdriver, right now, there was a Harbor Freight in eyesight. Now I soured on this place a long time ago. But remember I need a screwdriver right now and they are walking distance. I walked in looked around,WOW that's what everyone's talking about, lots of good looking stuff. Asked someone I need a Phillips screwdriver, right now. The guy points at a 4 in one hanging on a display. I bought it, out the door I go,it did what I need it to do. So yesterday,I needed a straight screwdriver on my way home. Luckily I happened to have my handy 4 in 1 that's taken out and replaced 2 Phillips screws in dynamite fashion. So I'm trying to remove some straight screws and it's getting harder and harder I keep pushing in and turning, but I keep having to push harder and harder to keep it from slipping out. Then I looked at the tip of the screwdriver,it now has a twist to it. The good is you can tighten screws with it,the bad is you can't loosen screws with it. So I'm thinking if we can just get crooks to buy these we will no longer need tamper proof fasteners. I can't believe it,another one of those, this has to work, how can you mess up making a screwdriver. Now I know. The good is they did replace it with no problem. I almost wrote last week letting you all know I went in Harbor Freight and was impressed. I'm just writing this in fun,but the screwdriver really did make itself tamper proof. Who'd of thought cheep chineese shelving would beat a cheap chineese screwdriver. I'm going back next week for a parachute.

Just acquired these from my neighbor. I borrowed to set distributor base timing. He said keep them, I don't use em anymore. You'll need it. He had 8. I borrowed 3 to see which one I needed.
He said those were for the fun days. Not fun anymore.

That's for shock absorbers, and in my opinion would be a PITA on a distributor. I put the wrench on as far clockwise as I can, rotate as far counter clockwise as I can. Move my distributor twist the wrench back. With the ratcheting one you've have to pull it back out, reverse direction, and fish it back in to tighten

My dad has several of those and reminisces about the "good ole days" all the time. He used to work in dealerships and at one time in the late 70s/early 80s was THE Corvette guy in the area. I've been on him about getting a project car and something with a carb so he can tinker with what he knows. Kinda like @ChuckN dialing in his truck, I know my dad would enjoy sneaking up on it a little at a time

Yeah, my neighbor is great. He used to own a shop in Chicago. All kids in Texas. I pick at him for advice, and special tools I don't have. However, he is storing a couple things in my garage which is bigger. He had a pacemaker put in and is cleared for some knee replacements. They at least let me get on a ladder and replace their AC filter.
He has been most encouraging when I want to give up, like when I did ball joints on my 04 burb! Got me through it.

It's awesome having good neighbors like that. I grew up in a neighborhood where about 15 of the families were good friends and always helping each other out/borrowing stuff and all us kids were friends. It's sad that that's the exception, not the rule. 2 different homes I've lived in now, I only spoke to 2 of the neighbors in the first neighborhood and don't speak to any in the current one.

How about using it on a shock! :Stupid Me: I'll hang on the wall, I can tell my daughter's boyfriend that's what it's for. He has an 88 camaro.
