Nice to meet you from Florida. Another pollack here by heritage. I’m about 25% polish and my wife 100%

I’m curious about how our European friends use our old trucks. Can you drive them on the road or are they off road only? What kind of inspections do you have to be road legal? Getting parts over here can be hard must be even more interesting over there
In the old country

Awesome trucks…you know there is something wrong with you when you buy 2

Love the names
Awesome! I’ve been planning a trip to Florida but I think we’re gonna go northwest this year, but Florida is on the list for sure, so if you guys ever wanna grab a beer and talk about old trucks lemme know!

You can drive the truck normally on a daily basis. I register all mines as classics so I only need to pass one inspection valid for life. It’s pretty easy too cause they don’t look at emissions or all the modern requirements. You can do it if the truck is at least 40yo. You also get like a 70% discount on insurance.

I get most of the parts I need from rockauto as it’s most convenient. Shipping takes about 3-4 days which is less than some parts stores in Poland, but it’s pricey cause they use air mail. For bigger stuff or bigger orders I use shipping agents. Takes up to 2-3 months but it’s a fraction of the regular price.

Trucks are for sure one of my addictions!

That’s pretty cool inspections varry from state to state here. Montana would be different than Oregon. Some states have no emissions test like FL others like California make it insanely difficult to pass an emission test

FL is fun for the beach and Disney but you are making the right choice going to the NW

Anytime you are in this part of the world let me know. Be great to get together

Where are you from, which region?
Siema!
Used to be Warsaw but I moved back to Wroclaw where I’m originally from! You might see my old f150 cause a guy from Zielonka bought it recently.

In Austria our old cars are registered as classic vehicles. We have tech inspection every second year and are limited to use the car 120 days each year. Luckily wife and I have 4 old rigs :D No discount on insurance but 10% higher taxes for not meeting emission regulations. Every country in Europe has it's own regulations which suck more or less. Austrian rules suck a lot.

damn...

In Poland you have only one inspection unless you have an accident or something and cops suspend your registration. You can drive the car/truck as much as you like. No higher tax or nothing. The only new thing is that they raised the age of the vehicles from 25 to 40 years.

Same in Poland
We have tech inspection every second year
We have no follow up inspections after the initial one when registering on "yellow plates", unless it's a vehilcle used for income (rental, weddings, limo, etc.)

limited to use the car 120 days each year.
No limitations as of now

No discount on insurance
The nice thing we have is that not only the insurance is very cheap, but it also does not be continuous. It's still obligatory to have it while driving on a public road, but you can have a museum piece and buy an inurance for just couple of days for some event.

10% higher taxes for not meeting emission regulations.
We don't have a vehicle tax and actually classic vehicles are exempt from "clean transport zone" regulations that were introduced in Warsaw, with other cities most likely following soon. I believe that because of that the classic car age limit was raised, so that people won't try to register early90's non-emmision cars as classics for the sole purpose of communitng to the city center.
