Not seeing how many responses I could get,was seeing if anyone could figure out what was going on here. That is a cherry picker a friend gave me,said it worked I didn't really need it,but hey extra cherry picker zero dollars. Bought that engine,brought it home,figured I could lift it out with that cherry picker. Got it behind the truck,giant pita on gravel,. Surprise the ram is no good. My cherry picker is buried behind 4 long blocks a short block on a stand and 2 cars. SO I pulled the boom up put a piece of unistrut over the ram piston to keep the boom up,unhooked the one end of the come along cable from the come along body and put a hook on it. Secured the come along with a pin and vice grips,hooked the come along hook pulley to the boom and the add on hook to the motor. Crossed my fingers squinted with one eye and started cranking worked pretty darn good.Structural parts of your boom has or could fail so you secured it with a chain; using the manual winch to lift the engine off the pickup bed just enough so you can drive off and lower it to a an engine stand. OR

No the chain just happened to be in the pic I'll put up another pic in a minute I told my kid to take some cause nobody was going to believe this. I'm going to redo the hook setup at the end of the beam and use something besides vice grips but heck that's all the fixing the outdoor cherry pickers going to get.Great work and problem solving! Does the chain serve a purpose?

Did you buy that from the ACME corp because that is some serious Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner **** going on there.Had th think on my feet,you guys guess what all is going on here,I'll fill you in later. Blow the pic up a few times in a few spots.
