I'm trying to refurbish the interior of my '87 Stepside. It originally had dark maple carpet; I couldn't find that color carpet anywhere so I went with Carmine Red. It's a little redder than I wanted but I can make it work.
Now here is the color blind test...I'm color blind (according to the Marine Corps)
Is this Maroon or Burgundy? I know I can find Burgundy interior paint but not sure about Maroon.

IMO maroon and burgundy are bout the same color. And the trim paint colors will be more about what matches, is close or what you like. Blending a couple colors or shades can also dial it in sometimes.
Example, this is the color of my interior. Light buckskin. The paint is used on the new pieces is decidedly lighter. And not just from age on the old pieces.
I may get a darker brown ish color and try to blend the pieces closer to the original color.

I agree, maroon and burgundy are the same basic color and there's many variations of both. Unless you can get color samples from the paint manufacturer, it will be trial and error finding a color that is a good match.

^What these guys said. Maroon/burgundy is kinda the same thing and everybody's version of it is slightly different regardless if it's a part that's already dyed or if you buy dye to change something. These trucks also never 100% matched inside. I think my truck has 8 different shades of blue inside lol

Yep! When I did the door panels and dash pad in the K5, I purposely used two different shades of red to specifically match the factory parts.

You should have the GM color code on your tag in the glove box. Yes it looks Burgundy, the code should be 77D for an '87

Yup, here it is on the glove box tag. Somehow I missed on when I looked up the RPO codes.

My burgundy carpet has sunfaded to various shades of red and burgundy now.I'll probably change out to rubber floor mat

Just found the correct maple/maroon color at the truck shop. Of course the carmine red carpet just got delivered from Classic Industries.
I'm going to see if I can send it back.
