I have two wires that I don't know where they go. I took pics before disassembly but lost all of them. I'm missing the batt wire that hooks to the distributor so maybe one on these go there. The one with the boot i have no clue about. Its not the oil pressure i have that see pic 3

What is the base truck? Appears to be a Vortec small block with an HEI dist? If I was guessing one is power supply for electric choke [oil pressure looking plug] other could be 12V to dist.

I was thinking the one in his hand is oil pressure the other is HEI power, but he says the oil pressure gauge is hooked up. Base info on the truck would be helpful. Maybe a picture zoomed out a little more might help. Does the truck have a factory tach?

Remember that these trucks ( generally ) have an oil pressure sender and an oil pressure switch. The one wire with a black boot is the oil pressure switch it connects to the intake behind the distributor. The other wire I’m prettier sure is the to the choke

The fat white plug screams distributor power, the other to one of the oil pressure switches. Wire color compared to the wiring diagram should confirm which is which. What exactly are you working on?

I' d bet new guy is right. He has the op sender hooked up for the gauge but on anything carbureated its going to need on op switch for the choke also.

White wire goes in the dist, right side of cap, in the front I believe. There is a slot for Tach there too.
