I know several people that have had that done. As long as your gasket itself is still pretty pliable it can be done no problem. However, if you've never done one, I strongly encourage you to find a good glass guy that has experience with older vehicles with these types of seals. They're a MF'r to do yourself without the experience or special tools needed, I speak from experience lol.

Can be done, did it with a friend on his truck. A lot of spray foam window cleaner, 4 hands and many curse words.

Thanks for the quick replies. I think I’ll bite the bullet and go with a new seal and strip for the rear glass as it is original and try the strip for the front as it is only about 4 years old…

After fighting it with soapy water and a glass install stick, I got about 18" done. Went to O'Reillys and got the install tool. Think it took about 10 minutes to get the rest done. $15 well spent.

Don’t even attempt without the specific tool.
And I’d recommend smoothing the edges on it. I marred up the chrome in a few spots.
Lock strips are not too hard to install. Front or rear window. And the rear window seal is much easier than the windshield.
I wouldn’t touch the windshield seal if it’s newer and doesn’t leak.
Most difficult part of the rear window IMO is getting the bottom corner trim clips in without destroying them or the gasket.
