I love the pre-80's round headlight front ends. They look like they are going to come kick your ass, real aggresive looking, I love them. But I don't miss the floor high beams, non-digital factory stereos, and full-time 4wd. And as far as the 70's K5's, I don't like the top that comes off around the doors.

I have to vote for the 81-87's because of the introduction of the TBI's, the pre TBI computer carbs, lighter transfer cases, no-full time 4wd. The 700r4. And the newer options that came with the trucks. And all 80's + quad light setups look kick ass.

And definatley the mirrors are better. :High 5:

Especially power mirrors. I've seen 4 Suburbans today, 3 had power mirrors...

I have yet to see them personally, unless I just don't have the eye for looking for them. You talking about pre-91 Burbs?

I like the older ones with the round eyes the best, 73 models specifically because of the recessed grill. And I don't mind the highbeam switch in the floor. But I guess being one of the older guys here I have an appreciation for things like that.

I like em all... well, except the '81-'82 grilles. But that's easy enough to change.

I'm with Pops on this one. I like the 84 and laters better. Multifuncion Swith on the column for the bright lights and wipers controls. Also by then they are usually 700r4 with OD trans, and I do prefer the seperate cowl and hood to avoid the crinkle hood.

However, mechanically, I like the 77 and earlier better. 12 bolt half ton rear end instead of the 10 bolt, 14B FF rear ends in the 3/4 tons standard instead of the 14b Semi Float, Dana 44 for the K10 and K20's instead of the 10b front. Also more likely to have the NP205 in the older models, where the NP208 is most common for 81 and later. But for Tcase, I don't wanna get to old cuz then you get the Full time NP203. Also up until mid 77, the 3/4 ton trucks had Turbo 350 instead of Turbo 400 no matter what engine size.
So I actually like things about all the years. But my vote here is for 81-87 for the seperate Cowl and Hood, and I like the flatter dash pad better than the slopped dash pad.
